    Hi  @Squirrelz92

Just caught up on your diary. I have everything crossed for you regarding the teams interview today!! A potential £7k payrise is quite something!!!

  • Morning!

Well my interview was at 6.30pm yesterday evening and me and the recruiter jumped on 10 minutes beforehand to catch up. I finally got my feedback from my first interview and it was glowing so I was sooo happy to hear that! It gave me that last minute confidence boost I needed to try my best in the second interview with the head of finance for the company :) All was going well until he vanished mid way through my speech! I thought I had done something even though I hadn't touched the computer 😂 Turns out that his computer decided to do an automatic reboot for a long awaited update.... not the best timing but he was fully apologetic 😂 Needless to say we continued where we left off and all went well (I thought it did anyhow)! The job still sounds very much like what I would love to get my teeth stuck into and I am still incredibly enthusiastic about joining the company. He said that he had a few more interviews to conduct today but he will let the recruiter know either way today with their decision. Fingers and toes crossed!!! I am already panicking about handing in my notice at my current role as my boss is lovely and I hate feeling as though I am betraying someone :( If I am fortunate enough to be offered the position, I will hand my notice in on Friday so I will then be paid another full 4 week salary on the 28th October (minus them taking my study contributions off it). This will all be used for my November bills which should tie me over until I receive pay from the other job (no idea how/when its paid).

My PAD for the day for £1 has gone to my CC2 pot and I am also hoping that my cheque for £48.70 will clear today so that can also be added to stash. I have £10.72 waiting to be cleared on Prolific so that will too be added once its ready :)

Another working from home day today as the docs recommended that my DD stay off for another day to make sure her viral infection clears completely. So I will have her get some Maths, English and reading done on an online subscription platform to tie her over until her return to school tomorrow.

Oh well done for getting the second interview, I really hope you get the job as it sounds as if you would be very happy there as well as having the pay rise. I will keep fingers firmly crossed that you get it :D

  • Thanks so much for your kind words @Humdinger1! It sucks to feel so awful about potentially handing in my notice at my current workplace as I have only been there since Feb and although I have done everything required and beyond, I just cannot go on with the next to non existent workload. I NEED to be busy constantly and this job will most certainly give me this! Just hope he manages to find someone good to take my place as they are struggling as it is :(

Many thanks @SusieT :) Here's to hoping so. Taking my phone everywhere with me around the house today in fear I will miss a call! I might not even hear from them today but we can always hope!

Quick update regarding my cheque amount. That has now hit my current account so the full amount of £48.70 has now been transferred into CC2 pot :) Almost at £100 now and that's ontop of the £25 usual DD.

  • EEEEEK! Many congratulations! Although I think we all felt you had this one in the bag 😊🥳

Regarding the notice period, quite often once you’ve handed in your notice it can be negotiated, and with a £400 uplift that’s an extra £100 a week you can leave early.

Will your new job be paid monthly or still 4-weekly? Plan ahead if you can in case you need to move some direct debit dates.

I’m so pleased for you! Knew you’d smash it x

  • Many thanks @SusieT and @LittleMissDetermined :) I have never even had to consider negotiating a notice period as I have always been happy to work it. I think it may work out safer financially if I do work it for the purpose of giving myself as much chance as possible to cover my bills. We are currently paid four weekly and the cut off for being paid on the 30th is the Friday before. So each pay-packet consists of week 4 of the prior period and weeks 1,2 and 3. Tomorrow is the end of week 3 which is when I plan on handing in my notice. If I work the full 4 weeks notice then this is give me another full pay packet on the 28th October (minus study money they may take form me and excess holiday). Hoping this last pay-packet will stretch to cover my November bills.

I am unsure as to how the new company pay their wages but I shall assume (hopefully I am right), that they get paid the last working day of every month. If this is the case and I start on the 24th October, I will miss the cut off to be added to payroll which means I will be paid at the end of November. I will also be paid more than normal having worked an extra week without pay at the beginning. Hopefully this plan will come to life so I know I will be ok. May have to use EF to cover bills that aren't covered from my last pay-packet after reductions but that's what it is for after all :)
