Thanks folks
Luckily my dog has no interest in claiming the sofa's as he struggles with the heat so he prefers the kitchen tiles or the floor! Doesn't stop his hair from attaching to EVERYTHING!! In our house a meal is not a proper meal without a Balto hair! I am wanting to buy some throws to protect against the inevitable but unsure as to what theme I am going for yet as I would like to keep it cosy but also light and with a countryside feel
Well it looks as though today will be the last dry day for a good week (thank the heavens!). We are desperate for rain.
Some little bits to share this morning starting with the bad/frustrating.... went to fill up my car and used the card system with it being 6.30am. Put my pin in and I got a notification saying that A*DA has charged me £30 for fuel!!! I hadn't even removed the blasted pump! Could only put £30 in anyway so that was pure coincidence but I shall be keeping an eye out for being charged twice! How on earth can I be charged for an amount they had no clue I was going to purchase?! Anyone had experience with this? If it helps I bank with St@rling.
In better news, I received a HMRC email regarding my latest tax calculations for 2021-2022 year (the instant dread). Turns out I overpaid and am owed £223Happy days! Not sure where I will put this yet as I am also due that £1050 at some point from TUI for the holiday compensation. Have filled in the form required to have the money refunded and it said I will receive within 5 working days.
My bank account was looking incredibly sad at 6.30am with just £33 left to last 2 weeks as my weekly shuffling occurred (proportion of kids pocket money, dog grooming and horse shoes into pots). However my partner has paid me his last lot of bill contribution money of £150 for the month so now I am at £180 after making my daily PAD this morning to CC2 of £2.65

Hi Squirrelz92
How odd about the fuel ⛽ 🤔 I've not ever had this happen. Usually when I go there they authorise £1 then the correct fuel amount is show on my online banking a few days after and the £1 disappears. I'd definitely keep your eye out for double charges.
I really like your sofa! It looks so comfy and elegant too! Have a look on Pinterest for ideas on themes maybe?
Great news about the rebate, pending comp and partners bill contribution and PAD too. You are doing so well. Keep going xx0 -
So two updates since this morning...
Decided to have a nosey into this Prolific thing as I am sure I have dabbled in it very briefly before. Turns out I have £2.74 sitting there! Winner! Sadly cant withdraw and I cant remember my Paypal info so shall have to get onto that as well as change my bank details there.
Secondly, just checked my emails and Virgin have sent me a £100 Am@zon gift card because I switched to them with our internet a few months back! Shame I can't turn it to cash but £100 is £100. Haven't bought anything off there in a while but I do have the children's birthdays coming up!!! WAHOOOOO!
Hi @Deleted_User! I know, its really got me panicking as like you mentioned, it takes £1 out and then the separate amount you took in diesel
Ooh yes I shall have a look on Pinterest! We are off to collect a giant sideboard for the living room this evening for the TV to sit on instead of buying a wall bracket (don't like the idea of seeing cables even if they are hidden inside one of those plastic things). Hope it blends with the room but if not I shall just sell to someone else what I paid for it.. £50 off marketplaceDebt Remaining: £8,781.53

It's all go for you at the moment isn't it? Great that all the money seems to be coming back to you rather than the other way around.
The Amazon voucher will come in useful I'm certain, especially with birthdays on the horizon. I use Amazon a lot and usually cash my surveys in for Amazon vouchers which I let build up until I need anything.

Great news regarding the £100 Amazon voucher, HMRC refund and the refund from TUI.
Sorry about your petrol though. Not had any issues with petrol, but I don't have an Asda petrol station or Starling, but with my Monzo it takes £1 and then the transaction updates after a couple of days with the right amount. That's stung me a couple of times, so now I pay in the shop. Have you contacted Starling to see if they can see two transactions on their end?Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

It's very much all systems go (or finances in this case) @LittleMissDetermined! Can't complain with money coming in. Just wish I didn't have to wait for it a week or so for them both.
My daughter loves writing/colouring etc so I said I am happy to buy her some special pen sets etc. Definitely think I can get these on Amazon so that is a win. Not sure what my son wants yet (other than his own tv and xbox which won't be appearing!) so shall leave some in there for him come August. Helps that my account transfers £20 each week to the 'birthday pot' so I should be ok now I think!
Will leave the diesel dispute for a day or so to see if it double charges me. If so, I shall be contacting Asda as they will have both CCTV footage and transactional records of what was charged at what times on the pump I used so should be reimbursed fairly swiftly!Debt Remaining: £8,781.53

Hi @Squirrelz92
Just caught up on your diary and looks like I have visited before with a couple of comments!
You are doing great, a couple of set backs but you appears to be coming into cash/vouchers wherever you turn at the moment which is great!
Compensation from Hols
£100 voucher for switching
HMRC Refund
£Some balance in Prolific
This is all really positive!

Thanks for popping by @shell16! It all seems to swing one way and then the other. Can't keep up. Would like to think I will have received everything owed to me before next payday in 15 days. Hoping I will be able to make my first big overpayment to CC2!Debt Remaining: £8,781.53

Morning folks! I was looking forward to the rain forecast for yesterday as the humidity is killing me off but sadly the only thing the skies delivered was a pathetic spit for 5 minutes
Yesterday was rather eventful regarding finances inbound as you will have read above. However to add to this, I revived my old Prolific account to find £2.74 and then smashed out a few small surveys in the evening. In the end I cashed out £6.34 (awaiting to hit payal), have 60p in the approved balance and have £2.83 pending. Shall try to do a few more over the next few days to get that little boost.
No sign of the compensation or tax owed back yet but its early days. Doesn't make me any less eager to get my hands on it though! So many ideas for what to do with it. Still set in topping up my EF up to £1000 with the compensation money. Do still definitely believe that the right thing to do is to use the rest to pay a small chunk of my debt off but I also know that we have a house that was bought as a reno job and things have become very stagnant in terms of doing work to it. Deliberating at to whether I should put the funds or even part of it into my renovation pot to get my small downstairs loo/cloakroom replastered. With the £223 owed from overpaying on tax, I was also debating as to whether to throw at the debt or give myself a little less to worry about regarding Xmas. I have nothing saved up for this yet so the £223 would come in very handy here. Aaaaah why is it so hard to choose!?!?!?! I want this debt gone but I also don't want to think about having to pick up a CC again if I don't have enough funds available
On a side not, I used CC1 yesterday afternoon to pay for an exam in September. It has been almost a year since I last studied for my ACCA exams and I really want to get the last two applied skills papers out of the way before April (more chance of a small pay increase if I am part qualified come my annual salary review)! The total cost came to £143 but I have filled in an expense form at work and will receive this money back either next Tuesday or the Tuesday after. The same will be said for my study materials. £150 will come out of CC1 for a 3 month membership for my online self study resources but once again I will be filling in an expense form and this will be reimbursed the same way. For this reason I am not adding it to my CC1 owed amount as I will be getting in back in 7 days or less for both after purchasing.
Not much else to report here I dont think! DS has a forest experience with school today so wellies are required. Still need to pay the remaining balance for that forever classic year 6 school trip we all got to take part in! Great memories!
Today will not be a NSD as I have to buy shavings for the nag totalling £13.Debt Remaining: £8,781.53
