Practice does indeed make perfect. Lucky for me I have 2 years working out my budgeting before hopefully becoming debt free. Then full steam ahead using all my knowledge gained to attack my mortgage! I have been reading the Debt Free Roll of Honour board and I cannot wait to be able to write my little piece celebrating freedom!

Another £7.35 cashed out from Prolific and thrown at CC2
surveys have slowed right down now so don’t think I’ll be getting another good wind anytime soon!

Well done for giving yourself a buffer, we can't be too restrictive or we'll end up unnescessarily struggling or like LMD said in an overdraft, or resorting to credit cards. It's good that the refunds are all coming through as well 😊.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Morning everyone,
Did you manage to get any surveys done when revisiting Prolific @LittleMissDetermined?
100% agree @Keedie! I don't have an overdraft at all so if I did end up dipping in slightly then god only knows what the charges would be! Rather not take that chance!
Well the £1400 came inHad to soak in the glory of extra cash before distributing it back out
£350 has been sent to my partner as that is rightfully his share. £732.51 has gone into my EF to finally hit that £100 goal! Woooo! Now for the rest and what to do with it. My current account still looks bleak. Removing the extra funds from the refund and taking into account that another mini transfer has taken place overnight (£20 from current account to birthday pot), I am left with £17. I am due to receive the normal £228 CSA tomorrow with it being the last day of the month and because I only need to book my youngest in for another 2 weeks and 2 days worth of club, I will have a little spare cash to top up the current account balance. This makes me want to ram the extra £317.49 onto CC2. I am scared! I am happy I have extra money now but scared of putting it onto the card and then regretting it. Of course that sounds so stupid as I am paying off what I owe, but its the start of breaking the habit of clinging onto extra money when I have debts to pay off.
Drum roll please ......... £317.49 has just been sent to CC2My first lump sum payment to a CC since starting this diary! Mixed emotions! So proud of myself as I could have kept that and spent it eventually on something for the kids or the horse but I didn't. Off I go to edit my signature immediately!!!!!

Yay well done you! That's a big chunk too, nice work. At least you know that you have your EF to fall back on if there are any hiccups along the way.
No surveys, but have now completed aaalllll the profile questions so I will be checking every day to see if there are any surveys for me.

Thanks @LittleMissDetermined! For me it feels like the first big step with it being my first lump payment
I was too excited to calculate the effects of this payoff.
So for my CC2, it now means I have paid off 18.7% of my debt owed here. I have paid off a total of 7% of my debt overall. Bit by bit its getting there. Just wish it was as easy to pay back as it was to spendDebt Remaining: £8,781.53
