if you know you have bills coming up this month that you cant afford to pay I would put all payments into emergency fund to have the funds to pay the car costs rather than get into more debt or put it on credit card
    *Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
    *Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
    *Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00

    Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00

    Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
    *Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*

    Savings
    *Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
    *Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

Hello @sunshine_raincloud! Thanks so much for subscribing and taking the time to read my diary :) Means a lot! Yes the travelling sucked beyond belief but the compensation they are happy to pay is out is way beyond what I was expecting and considering I only lost one day's holiday, I'll take it!

Pahaha I can completely relate to you and the dreaded suitcase @Keedie! I DID NOT want to unpack and do the washing but I knew from previous experiences that I would only be kicking myself for being too lazy. Once it's done its done I thought! Thank god I did do it when I did as the thought of catching up now I am back at work and with the horse... would not be in the mood at all! Thank you for your input on the horse vet bill scenario too! I am playing around with ideas as to how best to tackle it as naturally its extra worry. Definitely agree regarding paying what I can and then tidying it up with transferring the rest onto the new CC January time.

The last two days have been NSD's other than the normal PAD's and shuffling of money. Today my DS's £4 sim card bill came out for his phone. £20 has also come out of my main account and into the birthday pot :) Hurt my balance a little as I am only standing at £114 with 16 days to go until payday :( My partner is due to pay his last bill contribution of £150 tomorrow but that will be put towards diesel as I am seriously low and trying to stretch it out.

A PAD made to CC2 today of £1 again but at the moment I currently have a round up balance of £12.37 which I will throw at CC2 the evening before payday. Shall also give another period total for debts then :) I believe I am over 2% of the way there in paying debts and this will hopefully speed up a little once this next month passes with so many expenses flying out!

I'll follow your lead and be organised and unpack and wash everything when I'm back from my Blackpool trip next month. I can imagine it's a much better way to operate, as I secretly get annoyed at myself every time I pass the suitcase  :D.

Well done on the NSD, that's definitely a win even though you've got £114 until payday, if you can manage my NSD, hopefully that will help to balance things?

  • You're doing so well @Squirrelz92, hopefully you'll be OK over the course of the 16 days, especially if you can bag a few more NSDs in there too.

I must admit we always do the washing as soon as we are back from a holiday, we don't take the suitcases upstairs until they are empty of laundry.  It's definitely worth doing sooner rather than later haha

You shall have to let me know if you succeeded after your holiday @Keedie!

Hoping I can get a few more NSD's during this time. Today wasn't one of them though as I had to fork out for replacement horse boots.... ruddy horse pulled of a shoe in the field and her old boots are too big. This was a £14.50 spend.

Forgot to mention that my new sofas arrived today! Have been panicking for 4 months not knowing as to whether my choice of colour (cream) was a mistake or not with two kids and a dog but it looks soooo good! Darker than what I thought they would be but light enough to aid in brightening up a room with lack of sunlight. Utterly relieved! I do not possess a single creative bone in my body so I am struggling regarding their arrangement but on the positive side I no longer have to sit on the floor! Woop! Still lots to do in the living room but now its just accessories and making it warm :)

    Hi @Squirrelz92

I have now subscribed, so will be able to see your updates.  I will take some time later on to read your diary.  Just picking up on your sofa.  We only received ours a couple of weeks ago.  Do you have any pics?

Hi @shell16, yes I remember you mentioning that in your diary! We would have had ours delivered around the same time as you but we were on holiday in Turkey when they wanted to deliver so had to rearrange for today :)

  • Sofa is lovely! I’d like a new one but there’s no keeping my dog off anywhere he wants to sleep 🤣

That is a great sofa! I'm not a dog person, but your dog looks so cute.
