I have some pieces of furniture from the wood-land too. They have lasted really well and are still some of my favourites 😊
Congratulations on achieving two of your visions for your home 😊

@LadyWithAPlan 6.5k is incredible that's 2/3 of my current yearly mortgage. Everytime I look at my pension, I work out how many bills it will cover and then I feel pleased that another bill is covered (I only do this like once a year).
I hope you have fun at mcm! I was going to go with a friend but I don't know if I'm recovered and my friend can no longer get there (damn train replacements!) but gutted because it's always a lot of fun! I usually go and buy all of the digimon things I can.
Well done on completing the dining room table quest, very pleased for you!5 -

Sadly 6.5k will just cover a bit over 3 months of my annual scheduled mortgage at current prices... or i guess 1/4 of my annual - which does sound better !!
MerlinB a dining table - so grown up !!! I still am not there - I have a small round kitchen table onlyDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Wedding reception over the weekend was lovely, everyone had a fantastic time.
Sadly hit a pothole at some point getting there and back. It got me home, but the next time I went to get in the car, the tyre was flat and the wheel rim was bent.
The tyre is now in the garage, after swapping to the spare. They're going to replace the wheel rim when it arrives, and hopefully put a new tyre on it.
Also gave myself some food poisoning with some off milk in the porridge on Monday, and I'm still struggling today. When your coworkers congratulate you for not keeling over at any point you know it's bad.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Car is back, fixed, new tyre and wheel rim. Feeling much better although very tired after a week of interrupted sleep.
Rail strikes affecting my journey this coming weekend, costing me an extra £10 to sort it out and change operator. Not the end of the world but annoying.
Thankfully the hairdresser hasn't charged me for an appointment (I was on the way to them on Tuesday when I noticed the flat tyre/bent wheel rim) and has been able to reschedule me for a few weeks. Grateful to them for that, because as per their terms and conditions they absolutely could have (presumably they save it for the people who don't call them in a flap and apologetic!)
Booked hotel for Malta, which makes the rest of the month very tight, but gives me a bit of peace of mind that it's done and dusted. Just need to sort a hotel for the night before the flight, now. This is going to be a very spenny holiday/conference, but hopefully worth it.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

That was kind of the hairdresser 😊
Malta is a stunning place - very anthilly, you will see what I mean 😉
How much time will you have around the conference?KKAs at 15.07.25:
