Living in ULEZ with a non compliant car
Hello,
Sadiq Khan plans to expand the ULEZ. I have a diesel from 2014 which is non compliant.
I live in the expansion zone.
will I be charged daily for simply having my car on the driveway?
or will I only be charged on the days I drive the car?
Where does he think people will get the money from, to buy another?
thanks,

Given they've only just opened the consultation about it, nobody knows yet what the details will end up being. I see they are proposing a scrappage scheme though (assuming your car wouldn't fall under any of the exemptions).

But I expect that (as with the current scheme) the charges are only for driving, not for being parked:
"However, you don't need to pay the ULEZ charge if you are parked inside the zone and don't drive."

I would expect the rules to be the same as the current ULEZ area, you pay to drive within the zone so if your car is parked and not driven there's no charge.
The Mayor's expectation is that you get rid of the car and use public transport.1 -

The Mayor's expectation is that you get rid of the car and use public transport.Public transport is absolutely wonderful when it works (I live in Greater London) and the city really is my oyster, but it is unreliable. I’m sure It is also much better viewed from a ministerial or Government car as your driver takes you direct to your next meeting.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The enforcement cameras will be at the edges of the ULEZ, so you can drive around as much as you want as long as you stay within it, so the bigger it is, the better.

to drive within it? Is it just the camera's entering the zone?
Wonder why the shops are getting fewer customers? Total mystery.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
