Well, I'm pretty sure my laptop couldn't deal with the graphics, let alone the Kindle.
There are some fun ones for that.
"At least if she has the money I can't spend it" - a novel and valid point.
It's certainly harder to give your Dad activities when he can't see. It seems to be extra hard for people who've been sighted and it does create anxiety - it would be odd if it didn't. You do seem to have found some quality activities though.
Re the carer forgetting - people are complex and it's not unusual for something to slip through the net, but it's worrying if important or routine things get missed. Is he thinking through what he does and how it will affect your Dad? If he is, and getting it right, keep him.Might he be missing things because he doesn't want to admit they are difficult for him? A one-page summary might help with the routine, or ask him if there's something that would help. I have to say though that one-to-one care is very strenuous (you'll know this!) and teamwork makes all the difference.
So disposing of the less than alive is now part of your job?! I'd be careful about adding that to your CV!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

There's supposed to be a job description?!?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
The mystery animal was put in the bin. There was...an odor shall we say so I didn't want to poison the local wildlife.
I was wondering today how they come up with the restrictions for Carers Allowance. Here you're allowed to work 18.5 hours. Where does that figure come from? Is it half a full time job? It's 11% of a care week of 168 hours i.e. all the hours.
Monday carer is a nice man but very new. I'm slightly concerned that he might keel over but fingers crossed. He is willing to learn and dad doesn't hate him.
I was thinking picture based instructions as well as the written ones.
Ha I do have quite a unique relationship with my employer. I also eat a lot of her food 🤣🤣🤣 and drink all her tea. It's definitely more give and take than a standard job. Although the devil child decided to lean up against a complete stranger in the coffeeshop today. The 9 to 5 definitely had less embarrassment.

Hope you get paid soon.

It's definitely a balance SH. If I'm good they're good.
Found a diy shop. Forgotten how much that had been part of my life. Only came out with the tarp I went in for which is somewhat miraculous.
There was a lidl beside though so spent money I didn't have there instead 🤦♀️

I don't know what I did in a former life. Pulled wings off butterflies while peeling grapes for someone only to eat them myself to give me energy to dance a jig on Mother Teresa's grave perhaps.
Poor devil child is like a small boat on stormy seas. She had a meltdown so bad she started rattling the front door. They really need to get her assessed but they're slow off the mark. Or in denial. I have a terrible tendency to think it's my fault as well when it's circumstances beyond my control. Mordor in other words.
As if the stress from that wasn't enough, the 8 year old asked what a dictionary was 🤣🤣🤣 I went in and told his mother I had to quit because her child didn't know what a dictionary was. And his teacher had told him how to spell a word wrong and bless him he stood up for him, saying he was from another country.
Aside from destroying children's faith in authority figures and negotiating neuro diversity with a JCB, my day has been fine. Totally fine. Not overwhelmed at all. No overwhelm here no sir.
I have decided that I will stay in and do nothing onerous for the next two evenings. I had a moment of planning a day off before mom reminded me dad had a hospital appointment. I may have split my plans into two but may be unrealistic. I don't know.4 -
Crikey, you do well to be still standing! Are you sure it wasn't you rattling the door? No one would blame you.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Now 5 minutes before the little one gets picked up, I am sitting in my doorway at the Montessori wonderingWill I get paid today?
How will I get paid?
I do find myself wondering if it is cash flow problems. She runs her own business and I'd imagine it is quite variable. Which honestly I would prefer as an explanation. It confuses me more that she can't work internet banking 🤣🤣🤣1 -
