I couldn’t figure out what to put on the end of the lanyard. I notice it now I’m aware what it’s for but I’m not sure how much it’s been publicised nor how I can help if I do see it.

The sunflower is supposed to be a symbol of invisible disability. A family member has her keys on hers. I personally choose not to wear one in most places - but I'd consider getting one if I ever get up the guts to fly again.

Good luck with your trip back 'home' to Teacup and Heavy. I imagine it's quite memory laden.

  • Lol I'd forgotten about Britney.
Honestly, there was a few things that went into the decision and it was something I was planning to do. I did need a haircut and was really struggling with the idea of picking one. I couldn't make myself go to a hairdresser (I have a long term dislike of people standing that close to me and the lights are no bueno). But mostly it's just something I've wanted to try for a while and now it is a visual symbol of a fresh start. Or thinking about myself in a different way.
I am not enjoying the funny looks. But I am enjoying the feel of it and not having hair moving about on my head, getting into my face, wearing hats feels nicer...
I am feeling better today as I have been having a wee nap/weighted blanket session in the afternoon and last night I slept through for the first time in years. I find it incredibly frustrating but I'm coming around to the idea that I need to do these things.
  • That sounds really positive. Keep up the good work. How is it being back in Ireland?

My version of not going to the hairdresser is to cut my own - but it's long so that's easy. Shaving it sounds fun, don't worry about if people notice. They'll get used to it!

  • Yeah, I cut my own hair when it was long. And I did the shaving myself. I do hate hairdressers though.
It's kind of giving buddhist monk vibes now that I've stopped scaring myself with my own reflection.
Dublin is a place. I do not like it very much. And maybe I didn't leave the house at all yesterday. But it is swings and roundabouts, I wanted to go to the carol service that we always used to go to with Dad and I did. I went to the remembrance service as well.
Money wise I have gone off the rails and bought Heavy an ice bath for Christmas. Am I buying presents two days before Christmas? Yep. Have I bought something for Teacup? Nope.
I spent yesterday sorting out my bedroom so that I can a)take stuff back to Scotland b) turn this room into somewhere my nephew can sleep when he visits.
I did make massive progress with that and managed to reconnect the smart bulb so I can control it with my phone i.e. not have to get out of bed to turn the light off. And also adjust during the day so my eyes don't hurt as much.
  • Have a Merry Christmas. I am still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve because my roommate won't help out. Only one more to go though, so I do understand the feeling of doing things at the last minute. Have a relaxing day. And take it easy on yourself, it has been as very stressful year.

I hope that this Christmas, although it will be different, still brings good memories and makes some nice new ones.

  • Hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas.
I am getting through the day in a fuzz of food, wine and more food.
  • Happy Christmas mate. Food, wine, and more food sounds like a good day x
