Agree with AntoMac - high praise from your daughter. Some mother-daughter bonding as you both paint the room? Sounds like it could be a nice time/laugh for the both of you. Plus it will give her some experience in decorating that can only be a good thing in the future. And if she has a hand in it, hopefully less future teenage complaints about it

Great news with the increase in earnings Emma, and also nice to be told that people value your work. 

As you might recall I can offer a lazy inconsiderate teenager story of my own for every one that you encounter. What I will say is now that she is late teens my daughter is a lot better. Still has her moments though! I do try and see the funny side which is not always easy. I do think being a teenager is a tough gig, and is certainly not a stage of life that I remember with 100 per cent fondness.

How are things with your Mum these days? Whatever happened to your book writing? That must have been quite a therapeutic escape from reality.
Hope you get paid for the work you have done. I think I’m similar to you in being too trusting. I guess it’s better than being dishonest although it does sometimes seem that honesty isn’t the best policy.

Didn't want to read and run. I really feel for you, you're trying so hard and it seems people don't want to understand and support what you're doing to keep things together. Keep your chin up and know you are a good mum and doing your best.

It seems like your family members are happy to criticise you when they aren’t living the same life as you. You’re doing the right things and trying to demonstrate the right values to your daughter Emma. You know you can’t win with your Mum. Wonder how she would feel if you told her that SHE is a bad parent.
Keep doing the right things and it will all work out.Good that you have made peace with your daughter.

I love the way some people can only feel good about themselves when they are judging others & making THEM feel bad.  It took me until I was well over 50 before I learned that lesson.  Don't take that long.

Maybe try again to get your OH to listen to you Emma? It’s important to be heard/supported/understood by those close to us.  Surely that’s part of being someone’s partner.
You must be making some progress with your debts. Keep at it and you’ll get there.
