I get that, but there's a real possibility of me losing. So are you saying its better to 'fight' even if you have a weak case, and potentially risk being added more £££ coupled with stress and sleepness nights and potentially having to go court etc etcUmkomaas said:It's just that PPCs want their whole pound of flesh, regardless of the strength (or otherwise) of the Defendant's case. Experience from hundreds of cases has cemented our advice that mediation isn't for the Defendant in private parking cases. But happy to be proved wrong when you 'succeed' at mediation, whatever your measure of 'success' is.Please let us know.0 -
I've said this to you already - yes.
Poker face stage. Because it's a numbers game and they routinely discontinue.
If not, you could pay/ make an offer later, at ANY point, right up to the hearing that we are saying probably won't happen.
You don't need the gruelling, bullying experience of Mediation. At all. It merely picks off defendants and gives PPCs a heads up that your case is weak and that you are wavering.
It's the last thing you want to do.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you Coupon Mad, your responses are very helpful and reassuring. I will possibly go along and not mediate just now!
The deadline to respond is 15 Aug. I would assume I can send this through before 16th?. I'm going mad, but need to get done by tomorrow as quite busy today. Thank you.0 -
I would suggest if you leave it to the 16th you will miss the deadline as the deadline to respond is 15th.UltraRevenge said:The deadline to respond is 15 Aug. I would assume I can send this through before 16th?. I'm going mad, but need to get done by tomorrow as quite busy today. Thank you.0 -
Hi Le_Kirk. Yes sorry I meant respond by today. I'm on it now. Currently following the newbie post, which directed me to the DQ form post, looking for an email address, I was then directed to another post, bargepole talks about the process but no emails, but there's a post by on the thread by hoohoo and and provides a email address ccbcaq@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk. it doesn't say if ok to email DQ form to this but I am assuming it's the correct email. Thanks.0

On the template defence thread and elsewhere on the NEWBIE sticky it does say to send your DQ by e-mail to the same address as that where you sent your defence. I don't know where you have been reading but this: -email address ccbcaq@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk.is very old!1

Thanks. I've now sent it to this and the email I had sent the defence to, aswell as QDR.
Google reviews on QDR suggest alot of people have had CCJs!
Now, I'll work on getting a few pictures of the parking location, even though it's clearly marked (on the ground).
Thank you0 -
Hi all, I received County Court date awhile ago for the 30th of Aug 2023. I was hoping to attend but we're due a baby on the 31/8/23. I've decided to let court know that I will not be able to attend - no response. I have also let QDR know and if possible to resolve before court date. I have unfortunately given in as I do not believe I have legs to stand on parking in a disable bay! So I am just trying to follow the steps and pay up to ensure I don't receive a CCJ. Any advise what I can do next? Thank you0

You have all the information you need.
The back of your Claim Form has a box entitled How to Pay.
Do you understand that even if you lose at court, as long as you pay the amount decided, which will be significantly lower that that stated on the Claim Form, within the prescribed timescale, there will be no lasting County Court Judgment?1 -
Hi KeithP - thank you. I was not aware that even if I lost (which is unlikely) It maybe a lower amount. QDR solicitors have sent in their report which is very detailed with clear pictures! But most importantly as I will not be able to attend the hearing - is there anything else I would need to do? Do I send a witness statement via email and hope for the best and then pay up whatever Court decides? Thank you.KeithP said:You have all the information you need.
