In that setup the unit above the fridge doesn't typically go to the back wall so it gives more airflow to the rear of the machine however in your setup that isn't going to be possible.
1) Get integrated fridge/freezer which means you lose a lot of capacity compared to a freestanding unit
2) Sell your kidneys and look at Mastercool, Monolith, Subzero etc which can be fully integrated flush without any sacrifice of capacity0 -

I'm pretty sure that Sis is not attempting the 'built-in' look, but likes the free-standing habit of these !!!!!!. And that is them looking at their best. It'll stick out ~100mm from the base unit line to its right - that's ok - but a lot more on the other side, where there's just a chimney breast. It'll look like what it is - a large, American-style, free-standing FF, at the end of a row of units. She also wants as much storage space as possible, so always intended for a wall-mounted unit to continue over the FF. To my mind, anything other than full-depth (~700mm) here would look wrong, and also not be very practical. It might be that her current FF - at 'only' 830mm wide - will look better than a wider replacement for just that reason; it'll have enough space either side to make it obvious it ain't anything other than a free-standing jobbie.0

Rosa_Damascena said:The FF was entirely down to me, I had a 1000mm space left for it knowing I wanted a freestanding American FF (an integrated unit was not for me) and picked the model. There is no issue in accessing the oven at all.

Not to say yours doesn't look perfect but the shaker doors, handles etc you already have lots of angles, protrusions etc so softens the blow of the protrusion of the FF... theirs are handless slab doors and could almost be mistaken for a single continuous wall which makes the gap around it and sticking out more of a sore thumb.Sistergold said:
I found the kitchen beautiful but I guess the sticking point was how to house or accommodate the FF? The kitchen units I find them stunning.2 -
Another thing to consider is if the fridge/freezer has a water & ice dispenser requiring a dedicated water feed. Many such appliances have a filter externally mounted, usually behind the unit. That goes easily in the gap you must leave for airflow anyway, but you do need to pull the unit out to change the filter (every 6 months on ours). When we had our kitchen done, we had an island, and one of the key criteria was that there was enough space to pull the fridge/freezer out and move it sideways without being blocked by the island - which has power going to it and is granite topped, so not easily moved!.

Sistergold said:You are right the look is indeed avoiding the “ built-in” look. All pieces individually made, freestanding, on wheels can be reconfigured by moving them around at whim. So I can actually have any shape or size I choose as it’s obvious I am not trying to create a straight line. So any suggestions which make sense will do. This is a free spirited kitchen where I can push out all units to the garden and hold a party in the kitchen if it came to that. 🦹🏻♀️
