Get well soon @Shrewbie!
Well, what a week it has been. OH lost his dad, and there have been a few other awful things going on. As a result, he has decided to ask for anti-depressants again. He is off work for a while, so it looks like I might need to cover for lack of wages, so I need to double down on the budgeting. I had a spendy day yesterday and overspent, so the brakes are most definitely on. I'll pop a meal planner on the grocery challenge.Keep reading books!

Get well soon @Shrewbie, fingers crossed for Friday!
So sorry to hear your news @wishus, sending hugs across the sea.
Glad your sister has helped with your hems @Deni_debt-free_dreamer, afraid I'm not an expert at crochet. I watched a video on yootoob to learn Tunisian crochet, so I'm having a go!

Was aching today after yesterday's gardening, so decided to do some yoga before breakfast, instead of a more aerobics routine. Had a good day at work, my main pupil was off sick, so I had more variety in my day for a change. Stopped at the post office to post the coins sold yesterday. Did an online training course & prepared notes for my review meeting on Thursday. Two more new customers requiring alterations contacted me today. Replaced 2 trouser zips after tea.
Grateful for a good day, a different timetable & a surprise package of a box of mini eggs in the post from RM survey providerUse it up, wear it out

Thanks everyone, sorry to hear your news wishus. I hope your OH is OK.
It should be a cheap day for me today, working from home obviously and no need to go anywhere.

Have some hugs wishus, and some for your OH too.
I didn't get as far with my Sunday list as I'd hoped, the paperwork didn't get sorted so I woke up yesterday with no plan of action for the week only a whirl of 'to dos' in my head, feeling apprehensive about the appointment with the link worker and feeling very small and helpless. So I stayed in bed, went through my morning routine (teeth, pills, water, shower, various medicinal creams, decided what to wear) until I was calm and relaxed.
Then I phoned the Probate office, on hold for ages, nasty tinny piano concerto interspersed with very annoying 'Did you know.... you can do xyz on our website, go to blah, blah, blah. Finally spoke to a human being, gave the ref number and other details and she could find no reason why it hadn't moved forward - they had an original will, had received and returned the death certificate, no inheritance tax liability (I chucked that one in) only that it was 'in a slightly unusual format' (I filled it in using their online form). She's going to forward it to the 'expedite team' (she said she'd 'walk over and give it to them') so I should get the grant of probate soon (phone again if not heard in 7- 10 days).
Hunted out the appointment letter, ate, packed my bags and went for the bus. Talked to the doctor's receptionist about my 'fit note' - they turn off AskmyGP when the requests reach a certain level. 'Fit note' will not now get done until next Monday but will be backdated to continue from the current one.
Appointment went well (although there was an officious volunteer up there who insisted that they were only doing vaccinations up there so I did an extra trip down and up in the lift). The link worker asked 'what has been going on', so I told her - everything from mum dying, moving from mum's, back to mum's, then back home, living with 2 very messy adults clinging to teenage status who have their own MH problems, my ex-husband and my nieces' other grandma being at the no intervention stage of life, right down to feeling guilty about not contacting my dead brother's ex gf but not knowing if I can cope with her (or anything extra at all).
The link worker's conclusion was that I was still putting everyone else's needs before my own. She's referred me to CAB for them to help with the PIP paperwork (I will phone to ask for an extension), at our next appointment we will fill in a bus pass application for me (at least I won't have to think about the cost if getting on a bus makes life simpler) and we discussed various strategies to move DS3 and Beloved on. Not sure how long the appointment was supposed to be but it went over an hour and a half.
Afterwards I found a small space where I could sit under a tree and drank one of the cans I'd taken with me. I also enjoyed watching the builders using a huge crane (I've seen them in Manchester but never 'up close'. I had a quick toddle round leedle (taking advantage of being at the top end of town) and the cs (several had already closed) near that end. Saw camper van storage boxes in the framing and crafts gallery (owner was married to mum's lodger in a former life and was also another of my dead brother's former gfs). Was tempted by a cs doll's house for £5.99 (it's too big, I don't have the space but 'revamping' (it's much too pink but a solid frame) over 3 years would be easier than starting from scratch (and it could possibly be used for books meanwhile). They also had a small cube shelf which could be very useful. Still thinking.
Grateful for a good appointment, accessible food (I had the foresight to bring a large yoghurt upstairs on Sunday which did breakfast yesterday and today), using my very long morning routine as a meditation to get into a calm frame of mind and able to tackle some of the 'to do' list, an interesting new series and an interesting new book (it's not a keeper, can't understand why the main character is so contrary all the time). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
Morning, Turtles. Lots of hugs to everyone who needs them and those who don't as well.
Money - Wasn't an NSD. Had to order coffee pods (can't do without them!) but I got them for a good price.
Home - Well, I got all the Boy's washing done but drying it was more problematic. Upstairs looked like a Chinese laundry. Weather is a bit better today so I've hung what hasn't quite dried on the line. Just about to start the ironing now. Luckily quite a lot of it is towels, etc that don't need ironing. Promised I'd go help him sort out his flat a bit tomorrow after all the kitchen disruption. We used the remainder of Sunday's roast chicken for dinner with home made potato salad and coleslaw and I made potato and leek soup with the stock. It was quite a busy but productive day.
Me - I'm back to having fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch and a "normal" dinner plus I'm drinking lots and lots of water.
Hoping to do quite a bit today so better get started. I'm a bit later than I planned.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Blimey your brother got about a bit didn't he @mothernerd he must have been very popular with lots of ex g/f's, nice that you remember them though.Hugs Wishus, we are all here for support, and most of us have been in your position at one time or another, so just ask if you want to.Today we should decide on who gets to buy s/g's house. Then the house will be under valued by the mortgage surveyorAll beds have been stripped and remade, Mount H0tpoint will be scaled today, it is already 26 degrees on the middle landing (the one with no windows) so I am cowering in my lovely floaty summer frock (c/s £4 about 3 years ago) in the North Facing living room that is freezing in winter but flippin' lovely on a day like today. DH did not change any bedding while I was away. It is grim. There is a 'hygiene setting' on the lovely big washing machine. It is being used. Bleugh!!!!!Lost a lb! overnight!! No idea why, must be all that dietingI did battle with the Rates people yesterday for s/g's empty house. I sent them an exemption form last Monday, got a bill for £1,500 yesterday. Rang them, they said 'you need to fill out an exemption form' I told them I had, they asked when, I told them, 'oh' they said, I will transfer you to the exemptions office, who said 'you need to fill out an exemption form', I told him I had, he said he would check, 'oh yes, the computer says you have, but we have not processed it yet, and if you don't pay it before 1st June, you have to pay the whole amount, not just a month, but you can claim it back after we decide if the house is empty'. She is dead, she has moved house, they have returned her death certificate so they know that she is not living there, and as they sent the death cert back to Le'Shire they know I am not living there either.'We will write to you when we process the application', but if they took the time to make a copy of the death cert and update the computer system, why did they not process it there and then???? Gah! Oooh, if I were in charge!!I am actually dreading the postman now. Every day there is some other stupid bit of s/g post that has to be actioned, but is a stupid ridiculous waste of time. Posties should be a source of excitement, not anxiety. As long as I am further forward with it all when I go to bed tonight I will be happy. Probate is ridiculous.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
