    That's what I was worried about too. I asked them if it could be deferred, to which they said no. It takes effect within 24-48hrs. They said the rate may be withdrawn before the end of June. You can sign-up and you have a '14-day cooling off' period during which you can cancel and revert to your old tariff, I think.

    How do I work out the percentage please?
  • Pochase - as I think I said, it's a 2 year fix but no fee to switch - and if prices go down, they will switch me free or to go to any other company if I chose to, so it seemed best of all worlds - but to be honest I just wanted to get it done and it won't take effect until 26th July when my current much cheaper contract finishes.

    Why would anyone change tariff now and increase payments by £100 per month at the moment.
    What is the best way to change to a fixed Tariff, as this does not make sense to me?
    because - & it depends upon your usage, tariffs available to you & your mindset - for some it will be better to pay a little more now than SVT for a few months in what is traditonally the lower energy usage period in order to then pay less after the October SVT change (if what is currently forecast comes to pass) over the high energy usage period.

    For those with British Gas, I did a web chat tonight and asked about the Loyalty Jun23v2, and was told it was still available.
    If you do get offered it, check the rates, as they initially gave me the Exclusive Jul 23v2 rates.

    For
    Loyalty Jun23v2, I was quoted;
    Gas
    Standing charge: 28.521p per day
    Unit rate: 10.156p per kWh
    Electricity
    Standing charge: 44.443p per day
    Unit rate: 32.364p per kWh

    They said that I would get an email once tariff is switched. I also saved a pdf copy of the web chat, as proof.

    BG customer here. I accepted the July loyalty fixed on the app last week as this was the only one available to me. I rang them up and asked for the Loyalty June 23v2. At first they said it wasn't available, I told them I know people have been accepted on this today and they have now put me on it.

    Just gone on to EDF to accept a 2 year deal and they've pulled it.
    Was £289 per month, now the next best deal is £331 per month !
    EDF's prices do seem to be heading north at the moment, but keep checking as they do seem to offer better deals to random customers from time to time, though only for a day or two if my experence is anything to go by.

    I had an added confusion as EDF randomly reduced my estimated usage, which made their offers appear better though in fact they were not. But that apart, I had a two year deal on offer for several weeks at £184 per month. A better two year deal popped up a week or two ago at £165 but disappeared shortly afterwards, and now the only fixed deal is yet another two year fix at £198 per month.

    I'm checking regularly but don't expect anything worth taking unless they offer a one year fix, which I'd be more comfortable with at the moment.

  • British Gas has offered me:
    For Exclusive Jul23 v2;
    Gas
    Standing charge: 30.645p per day
    Unit rate: 10.642p per kWh
    Electricity
    Standing charge: 49.559p per day
    Unit rate: 37.266p per kWh
    Which is a 31% increase on the current variable rate.

    Hi - I have excepted the below from British Gas today from their email over a week ago.

    I did thus as I was concerned about the recent market increase in energy and thought I'd go for it before the deal was pulled. Especially when the tariff no longer appears in my online account. I hope I did the right thing - Thanks

    Exclusive Jul 23v2
