i wish EDF were offering me the same rate!
The best they’ve offered me so far to get me off SV is 11.02 p/kwh; so I’m wondering why they are penalising me by comparison?
I also have elect from them and was fortunate to fix last Oct at 23p/kwh and SC 27p per day for 3 years until Sept 2024. Although this was a big jump from the 15p/kwh we have previously been charged I am really pleased I fixed when I did!
So I am wondering whether the reason they are offering me such a poor gas tariff to fix is to try and claw back some of their “loss” on my current electricity supply? (Not that I use that much - my monthly electric usage is only about £50 inc VAT)
Would be interested on how you get on.
If you don't ask you will never know.0 -

Were you one of the gas-only customers who were SoLR'd across?EDF's gas-only fixes are much worse than their dual-fuel ones (you'll find lots of people with the same complaint over on the "Zog has gone" thread). Since you already have a good electricity fix with EDF, I imagine you're being offered the same options a gas-only customer would. You would probably qualify for a new dual-fuel fix but I imagine you dson't want to start paying 35+p/kWh for your electricity? You could try contacting EDF customer services. Your current electric fix probably has an associated gas tariff; if you're extremely lucky they might let you move your gas onto the same fix?N. Hampshire, he/him. I've been offered a deal by British gas that doesn't seem to add up.
Gas - 30.645p per day standing charge (£111.85 per year)
10.506p per kWh (12,000 units estimate = £1260.72)
So I work that out as £1372.57 per year, but BG are showing it as £926.92
If I do the same calculations on the SVR it adds up exactly to the figure BG estimate.
Am I missing something here?0 -
Are they saying they are using the 12000KWh national average or are they maybe using you estimated gas use?
Maybe post a screenshot here.0 -
They’ve used 12000 as my estimated usage

Completely agree with you, the figure is wrong and your £1372.57 should be the one they use.
I am just not agreeing with you that they use the SVT to calculate the £926.92, I get more to a figure of6.8p to 6.9p instead of 7.2p to 7.4p depending on region. But if I add 5% VAT (a second time as it should be included and only to unit rate, not to standing charge) it almost matches up. Does not make any sense at all.0 -
Sorry, maybe I didn’t explain that bit very well. Here’s the screenshot of the SVT that does work out

Is anyone else having a problem with BG not following through on switching your tariff once instructed?
After reading the forum for guidance I switched on 16th May, email acknowledgement came immediately. Then nothing!
Went on a BG site and app a few times and it told me I was in process of switching, but still nothing and still showing me I was on People's Energy tariff.
Went back on last week, site allowed me to select again, email came in acknowledging, but a week later still nothing happening.
Trying to get in contact with them is a joke, even the bot line doesn't want to know!
Any one else similarly affected, or managed to force BG to do something?
