What rates are you being offered by your provider at the moment?

Octopus quoted £826pm for a one year fix for us, as against BG's £795pm (Exclusive Fixed Energy v25 - Single rate).  Worth the check, but it's persuaded me that the BG rate isn't as outlandish as I thought it was.

My current BG fix ends early October and will increase from just over £200pm to £616pm on 1 October.  £795pm, on reflection, seems a fair bet against the almost inevitable January and April increases.

14 day cooling off period to allow for any surprise changes to the energy 'cap' prices when we get a government again next week.

Interesting that wholesale gas prices are currently falling fairly sharply, though (https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/uk-natural-gas) so it's possible those January and April increases might not be as high as predicted.

I fixed the elec earlier this year with BG but dithered on gas at 11p per unit when with EDF and decided to move gas to BG in June. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. But wont be taking this offer. They did say that if I took a gas fix then this would apply only to gas and not change my current fixed elec.

Thanks for your information.
Shell isn't releasing it's October 1st prices yet.   So I am guessing that 80% on top of  my current variable tariff is a rough idea of Shell's next rise.   That makes is around 48.72 per kwh.   Until the next rise on January 1st. 
Will check out EDF and Octopus by phone.   I wish that there was more choice, but I followed the advice not to switch.
I hate feeling so out of control with my energy costs.   I have reduced my electricity usage to the bare minimum and have even turned off the oven as there is a clock on it.  Candles in all rooms!

Candles are much more expensive than a LED bulb.

What is the rate for gas on Exclusive Fixed Energy v25 - Single rate?  It doesnt come up on the app.

SP has now removed all offers, up till lastnight there was a 12month deal the rates were really crazy

Standing charge:  26.94p per day

Unit rate: 65.45p per kWh

Gas: Standing charge:  24.48p per day

Unit rate:  19.42p per kWh

£100 exit fee for Electricity

£100 exit fee for Gas
