Hi BwillBWill said:Hiya Everyone, this is my first post so please let me know if It's in the wrong place... My daughter just came to the end of a one year price fix with e.on and was immediately offered another fix at just 40% more than her old fix. I'm also on e.on but on a flexible tariff and don't seem to be able to find any fixes anywhere close to that. Is there something I'm missing or do e.on operate some kind of two-tear system favouring people coming off fixes with very low prices - does anyone know please?
I would go for this after checking the tariff details carefully, after contacting Eon back in June I was offered a deal to fix for 12 months after asking for confirmation as the rates were good I thought I had secured a good deal.
I asked several times if this was a fixed deal for 12 months and was assured that standing charge and unit rate would not change for 12 months, 3 months on and Eon are now saying that the deal I am on is a variable tariff and only the direct debit amount is fixed for 12 months ?, this was not the information I received via email.
Just make sure they are offering what you think.0 -

Yes you need an EV. But if you call and ask they will take you as a new customer.QrizB said:rolstherat said:Why is Octopus Go not mentioned? Am I missing something. Fitting a home charger is notifiable electrical work. Quick search with local authorities would reveal if you have one.rolstherat said:

They don’t have the time to run that sort of check.Steve_79_P said:

TBH, I’ve looked at this tarif, I could switch a few things to use the lower rate at night, but the standing charge is higher and the higher day rate would make it touch and go on price. It needs a careful look at how much you could make use of the lower rate 4 hours.0 -
I am new to this! How can I switch at the moment when I can't see any tariff quotes online?
I am with Shell and was moved when my provider went bust so am on the variable tariff.
Over the phone today, Shell has told me that they are not offering any fixed rates at the moment for anyone, even existing customers.
Looking online at other providers, only Octopus says phone to discuss a new customer tariff.
Do I have to telephone every electricity energy provider to find a possible fixed tariff contract?

Currently we only know of EDF and Octopus who might eb prepared to let you switch if you call them.
The other suppliers don't want new customers on SVT.1
