If the allegation concerns a PDT machine, the data supplied in response to this appeal must include the record of payments made - showing partial VRNs - and an explanation of the reason for the PCN, because your Notice does not explain it.

But I'm not sure where the pay and display bit is? Thank you all for your kindness and patience with helping me

See above in BOLD. PDT = Pay and Display Terminal
  • Thank you! Wish me luck :D
  • OK so I have had a response, not good news :(

What are my options? SHould I just pay?

No you should not even consider paying.
Of course they were going to reject, what have you said to the management company?

Why would you pay? I certainly would not. Yes, they are trying to frighten you into capitulating. They say the cost will increase to £170. Well, the new Government CoP  bans these fake add ons, and I would be very surprised if they get that one past a Judge now.

Go through the self serving kangaroo court of the appeal, but expect to lose. I would concentrate on Jopson v Homeguard, loading is not parking ..... and you were loading were you not !!!   Ignore silly debt collector letters after that but look out for a real letter of claim. Read up on the 'newbies' and learn what to do and when.
The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.

Erm - no? Didn't you realise that the appeal to the parking operator is only the first part of the "dance", and that 99+% of first appeals are rejected? (Interesting that they're still trying to get away with the £70 uplift, something which has been banned by the new Parking Code of Practice bill - becomes effective in 2023 so doesn't apply to retrospective cases, but operators are supposed to be moving towards compliance; as your case doesn't yet have the uplift applied then doing so now after the guidance has already been given doesn't look good for them).

You may wish to try an IAS appeal (2nd part of the "dance"), but even then only 4% of IAS appeals are upheld. (DO NOT try the IAS appeal where you pay £15 - it's the free appeal you'd use). Again you don't have to pay.

Debt collector letters are part 3 (and can be gleefully ignored, but filed away), and court is part 4 of the "dance" (should they try it, which isn't so common for an Own Space case).

Eh? no-one pays PCM!  They are aggressive ex-clampers who were on Watchdog/Rogue Traders.

Read some more PCM own space cases, e.g.:

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi! I stupidly missed the deadline for theIAS appeal :( I have now gotten a 'debt recover' letter from Trace, which is for £170. Should I ignore it? Or write to PCN again?

The whole thing makes me so cross. PCN are such criminals.

Get on to the management company, they are supposed to be working for you.
Tell them that they must cancel this parking charge issued by their agents with immediate effect.
Do not ask them to cancel it, tell them that  they must cancel it
