  • This thread is amazing. Great to know I'm not the only veggie around.

    I'm having Quorn roast, Leek & Butternut roast, roast potatoes, puff pastry (only have it once a year cos it is as fattening as...), peas and carrots and vegetable gravy.

    Yum!
    An extra-special MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my fellow veggies :T
  • Forgot to say... I've been a vegetarian since Christmas Day 1985, so that'll be 22 years this Tuesday :D
  • My local Asda have been selling Quorn Roasts for £1.50 for some time now. I bought loads a while ago as once they're gone I seem to go months without seeing any.
    I notice Quorn have brought out a new Vegetable Roast, haven't tried it though.

    I spied that one the other day too. I loaded up with 3 as they had long dates. Didn't realise til I got home I'd actually been charged £3 each - and I won't have time to go back for a good few weeks :mad:
  • to Badger_Lady, thanks for the link for the chestnut pie. have been printing off all the recipes on this thread and tried this one yesterday. a BIG hit! gorgeous pie and we will be having it again.

    merry xmas all!

    Another great way to do the quorn roast. Half cook it. Then make cuts downwards and insert tomato slices or whatever you like. Then smother the whole roast in creamy mashed potato. Make peaks with a fork (a bit like baked alaska), and you have your very own snowy log. Make sure the potato gets nicely browned with crispy peaks by sprikling with tiny knobs of butter. Serve with all the normal christmas veggies. Enjoy ........

    You can also make individual portions rather than one long log :D
    Going to try this today:beer::beer::beer:

    Mmmmmm just pootled through the kitchen and hubby has the potatoes and hard peas on the stove and I spotted prepared carrots and green beans on the side ready for roasting. We're having it with roasted braised tofu & gravy. He makes a mean roast dinner *tummy rumbles*

    I'm going to make the rhubarb crumble to have warm later with chocolate swedish glace... oh it's horrible being vegan, living on rabbit food ;):D
