Penry - I use whatever Tesco have in stock and just brush it with oil before I pop it in the oven. Usually Tesco have the meat free rashers and then either Linda McCartney sausages or the quorn ones. Best to let them defrost first otherwise the rashers cook faster than the sausage

I can type up the mushroom/chestnut/stilton pie recipe if anyone wants it? I've already made mine and it's in the freezer :D
  • Ahhhhhhhh  Am I the only veggie in britain to hate nut roast?! !!!
  • Nope Cathy! I don't like it either!!! (see my other posts!)

I think i am the only veggie that's allergic to tomatoes though!

  • For a simple yet tasty pastry dish you can buy a slab of puff pastry, cook some broccoli, leeks, put them in a bowl and mix them with chilli flakes and grated cheese (cheezly for vegans). Roll pastry out and cut a circle, place filling in the middle and fold up like a pasty. Cooks for about 20 mins. Very tasty and very easy.

Another good reason to go for a Quorn roast, both Morrisons and Tesco have them on offer for £1.97 instead of £2.97...get them quick though as they always go fast around Christmas (for some reason!!).

Holland and Barrett still do the peanut loaf in a tin, but can't remember waht it is called. It's usually near the nut roast type stuff.

    Nuttolene!!!

    Ingredients: Peanuts, water, salt

    - Not just veggie but vegan (unlike Quorn)
    - Far less processed than Quorn
    - My sister (who hates nuts) said it was her favourite dish with roasties :p .

No you aren't. I don't eat them either, and I'm allergic to eggs too which makes eating out rather difficult
