I have made this for veggie frinds a few times, it's delicious.

We have even had it for dinner ourselves once or twice, and in a household commited to carniverousness, that has got to be a good sign!! :D

Ooops, the link would help :o

    Hi
Try Happiness Soup by Nigella as a starter; it's our favourite bright dish for the winter [even though it really is a summer dish]. Substitute vege stock in there; natch.

Oh yeah, serve with bread from the breadmaker; still warm if possible.
  • this will be our first vege xmas

can anyone recommend some recipes for me please?

and i need to make a confession.... ive never tried nut roast in my life.. is it nice? and do you serve it with gravy etc?

    x

i think it is a great idea, to be a vegeterian, i think i will become on too, i don't eat a lot of meat anyway
  • i am a vegetarian for a year, i feel great
  • I have the quorn roast I absolutely love it ! I make regular cuts into it all the way along and push chopped onion in. I sprinkle half a veg stock cube over and pour a 5 tablespoons of veg stock over to prevent it from becoming too dry I also sprinkly it with mixed herbs before putting it in the oven (cook in a small baking tin)
    Merry Christmas MSE!
  • This sounds lovely, think I may get 2 roasts, because my mum dosen't like onions and garlic and I love it, but she loves tomatoes and I don't.:beer::beer:

Hmm, thinking is making me hungry, yum yum yum.:beer::beer:

Now what to do for starters and pudding:beer::beer::beer:

What and eat meat for a day:eek::eek::eek:_pale__pale__pale_ there is lots of yummie yummie yummie things that can be eaten without a poor defenceless animal being the victim, how about everyone turning veggie for a day:beer::beer::beer: My christmas is about having the yummiest meal I can make and I couldn't eat meat, I love being a veggie, it has actually taught me how to cook:A:A:A

  • I once got a quorn roast and and cooked it about halfway with some herbs, then I got some rashers and wrapped them round the roast and then wrapped some thinly rolled puff pastry around it and cooked it, till the pastry was golden brown. I served this with veggies and gravy. It was really lovely:beer::beer::beer:

I think some cheese would be nice wrapped with the rashers as well. Going to try a different alternative next time:beer::beer::beer:
