I've been a veggie for 35 years and this year and taking my xmas lunch round to my unimaginative bro's, cos they don;t know what to make me:eek:  I feel like getting a take away from the Indian at the bottom of the street tbh.I am very hard to please cos I hate meat substitutes like Quorn  "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

My ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE veggie Christmas dish is Chestnut Pie made with puff pastry. Yum! Unfortunately, my Mum makes it so I don't have the recipe :-D
When I hosted Christmas vegan-style a few years ago, I made a range to choose from:
- "Doggy Chunk Pie" - puff pastry filled with red wine gravy, onions and soya chunks (my sister's favourite)
- Cashew nut roast (from a packet)
- Slices of peanut loaf - I can't find this anywhere now, but you used to buy it in a can and it's made from 100% peanut. You then just cut 1/2 inch wide slices and roast or fry. Very yummy and extremely easy!
But nothing beats that Chestnut pie with gravy and honey-roast parsnips!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

I get treated like the lowest of low, as though i'm being deliberately awkward or something.I've been a veggie since and was 5, and brought my DD up as a veggie too,Guess who was the one who introduced her to roast beef when she was 11:eek:  !!She eats chicken now but that's her own choice!!;)My brother's the same and very sarcastic about me being a veggie:mad::mad::mad:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I have made this for veggie frinds a few times, it's delicious.
We have even had it for dinner ourselves once or twice, and in a household commited to carniverousness, that has got to be a good sign!!
Ooops, the link would help
