Good morning my lovelies 😘
I've noticed that asb is very quiet too Fayolle.....sending love up north. ❤ And darn sarf too of course ❤
Another week at the paid stuff survived. We are suddenly leaking top management bods...which makes me wonder what they know that we don't know. But...shrugs...it'll be what it'll be.
How can it be 1st May tomorrow???? Not that I'm complaining as I have week commencing 9th May booked off as Annual Leave. 😊
I've made my bed and brought down the laundry hamper. First brew went down nicely.
To Do Today List
Brew 2 and breakfast
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing
WUDUPA
That'll be the basics sorted.
Happy weekend all
Rxx

Bless you for thinking of me girls.
I am totally fine, just lots and lots going on. Been busy helping friends with lambing, now DS has tested positive (thankfully totally fine with it), loads of outside jobs to do as the weather gets better etc etc. Only just come in now after being out since 9am.
Love to you all xx

Oohhh a flurry, just when I thought I might be the only person here today ☺️.
Well done, Kaz. That’s an amazing achievement. I wish that I could motivate my DH to do that so that he could lose his excess weight and improve his health.*waves to ASB*. Glad you are ok, honey x
Spent a couple of hours at the allotment but it is like trying to turn concrete. It’s soul destroying as nothing really is growing. We desperately need some rain. The water butts in the garden are nearly empty.I’ve turfed out my winter jumpers, and vacuum packed them into a suitcase. Most of them haven’t even been worn this winter as it’s been so mild for most of the time. Summer clothes are down, although it isn’t even May - usually an end of May job. I now have an ironing pile of clean but creased clothes.
Wm x 1, dw just finished, and I have focaccia “brewing” on the side. DH is cooking (bbq’ing some fish apparently - eek, he doesn’t cook. Ever), so the bread may be needed as alternative sustenance….9 -
I’ve lit the fire and settled down with a glass of wine.
I am struggling with growing things here at the moment - no greenhouse, so everything has been on window sills, and no way of planting anything at all out yet (we had a frost last night again, the duck pond was frozen over).
I have two broody geese who are sat on their nests and won’t move, a lone chick in her house in the spare room (she was the only one that survived from my last hatch), another 12 eggs in the incubator due to hatch next weekend and four Pygmy goats arriving next week. I’m beginning to feel like you Dizzy!
Keeping busy with the animals and children is so much better for my mood though. Despite the absence of spring here it feels good to be productive outdoors once more. As a result flying is non existent, please accept my note!

Big (((hugs))) to dancemum xx
Glad you're OK, asb, and I hope your DS recovers quickly xx
Well done to all who've kept the thread going for the past few days - it has been very quiet. Even more well done to anyone who's trying to dig. Even with our sandy soil, it's almost impossible atm. We had a few drops of rain today but nowhere near enough to dampen the grass.
I have continued to work through a long list of jobs with the aspiration of clearing my desk. The washing is up to date, there is nothing to iron, and the house is tidy. I even got out in the garden yesterday and planted sunflowers (the seeds that came with DD's flowers for Mother's Day) and geranium cuttings.
This evening DH took me to a concert for which he booked 3 years ago, but which was postponed twice because of lockdown: Andre Rieu and his orchestra. Not really my preferred style of music, and it was all amplified far too much for my comfort; but there were some excellent soloists, both singers and instrumentalists, and it was a real party atmosphere with about 14,000 people in the Arena. We both agreed - for different reasons - that it was an excellent evening
I'm still suffering the effect of the "full fat" (ie non-decaff) coffee I had at 7 pm, so not feeling in the least tired atm. Better try to get some sleep, though, or tomorrow I shall be washed out like one of HB's wet dusters8 -
Hugest hugs DM .. run free Miss Muddy Paws.
ASB.. if you have a half decent freegle/freecycle/FB groups.. stick a wanted ad for a greenhouse.. assuming you have room..DD2 is home for the weekend.I hung out 2 loads of washing, did a food shop, arranged the car to be jumped off after IH left the light on and the battery died. Folded 1 load of washing and put 2 more loads in. Took DD1 to the r@nge for 2 items and we bought a million..H brought home a milliong pratchett books the other day which are in the middle of the front room.. (if anyone likes them and needs a copy give me a shout and I will see if we have spares.. or LOTR)
I have been knitting pretty much.. I've done a patchwork blanket, it is a knit a-long and the next installment is out next weekend so I cannot finish it fully until then but I can start sewing it together during the week... and am doing a dozen dangly birds for Grandpink to hang in her bedroom.. she will love them.
Off to glue a couple of nails and getting in my pit.

White rabbits 🐇 🐇 🐇
1st May. Well I never did. I'm still in February 🤪
I've made my bed, frightened Sweetie, cut my finger, got weighed, and had a brew. Not all of this was intentional of course....but done nonetheless.
I made my colleagues laugh this week with my impression of driving home 20+ miles with my car stuck in 4th gear many moons ago.(1980s). Coming up to a roundabout- sorry, can't stop, not being rude, thank you, with appropriate zipping around the office is apparently very funny. Do you remember having cars like that? I was driving a pool car recently and the engine cut out when I stopped at traffic lights. I nearly had kittens!!!! I used to have a Viva did that....and then it wouldn't start again.I had to remember to keep up the revs as its tick-over was poorly. Turns out these modern cars restart when you touch a pedal. Can't remember which pedal...I tried them all. 🥴
To Do Today List

WUDUPA
Better get the kettle on. Anyone want to join me for a brew?

Having a brew with Round. If she hasn’t made it on to brew 2 already due to my tardiness.Hugs to dancemum xWe just had some rain - yay! 6 drops - the patio isn’t even wet. 2 pigeons are getting up to things that I would much prefer pigeons didn’t get up at any time, let alone this time of day. It seems to cause poop of humungous proportions, as well as baby pigeons no doubt.
Hmm, I had an old mini clubman many moons ago, which let in water up through the floor. When it rained, I used to stop at traffic lights, open the window, and bail out my shoes, put the shoe back on and calmly drive on again when the lights turned green. Not sure why I used to get strange looks from people in the lane next to me…
Not sure what today will hold. DH needs to be surgically removed from the armchair, that’s for sure, as he isn’t going to clutter up the LR all day. I might try to get some seed babies started in pots in the hope that one day the ground will be diggable and they can be planted.
Other jobs:
2nd cuppa
s&s bathrooms
wash cars - postponed due to hoped for rain
HHI
That’s good for starters, I think.
Love to all xx8
