One door curtain and a dog fleece run through the WM and hung out, all the other washing including the dusters brought in and folded. Two Cheese and onion flans created and currently baking in the oven, one for tonight and one for the freezers. We're not vegetarians but have managed to reduce our meat consumption to once a week, and now have a lot of veggies meals to choose from, as well as a couple of vegan ones. Happy with that. The 'problem' is the whoopsied meat in the freezer - it's going to take us an age to work our way through it.Better is good enough.8

Hi all
Finished the paid stuff a bit early today, just felt absolutely wiped out. Had a horrible dream about DS last night which didnt help, going to see the consultant at hospital really unsettles me for a week or two. I hate that place.
Made two shepherds pies, one meat and one veggie, gave the kitchen a proper clean, put teatowels on a hot wash, changed our bed, helped DH move some logs out of his van into the log shed, and started gathering one or two camping bits together for our weekend away (including my electric blanket!).
Feet up now, might try and get an early night.9 -

I managed to do quite a lot of admin yesterday and have nearly finished clearing the papers off the spare bed. And my oven is working again, the blown element having been replaced by a very efficient and cheerful engineer who arrived on time.
Today I must mop the kitchen floor as I was alerted to something having been spilt in front of the sink by my slippers squelching.
I am also going to pick up my new specs and need to call at the cake decorating shop to get roll-out icing for a birthday cake for my littlest godchildren - it's a good thing the oven is back on!
This evening I am going to my college cohort's reunion meal and looking forward to catching up with everyone. It is turning out to be an expensive week for eating out and buying extras - but it's making up for 2 years of no such outings. On Tuesday I managed to phone a friend who I hadn't spoken to for about 8 months. When I apologised, she said, "Don't apologise - there's a phone at either end, I could have rung you." I think we've all got used to being hermits.
Well done for polite assertiveness, Honey_Bear - I remember how that particular lodger drove you mad last time, and I wouldn't have had her back again.
Our goldfinch lodger in the pyracantha is sitting beautifully on her nest - no trouble at all
Happy Thursday everyone. It's nearly the weekend! xx8 -

Sitting here admiring all the hard work!Congratulations, encouragement and sympathy to everyone according to their needs.I actually crept in to say I've been self-isolating with Covid so have done precious little to nothing all week.I've done some loads of washing, some washing up here and there, cooked a few meals and ordered/put away a shopping delivery. That's about it, really. Will see what next week brings...A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
