Haha! I am sorry I have been sooooo busy. However not busy in Corfu unfortunately
So that day when I was waiting for the passport office to come back to me I got a response from the half an hour before they were due to close saying that unfortunately my case was too tight to process and so they couldn't do anything for that day. I asked them when the earliest they could do it by and they didn't respond.
I had a flight booked on Saturday for 6am in the morning at Gatwick Easyjet Speedy boarding, and so I decided to try my chance one more time.
I couldn't sleep the night before at all and so I practically pulled an all nighter.
Got to Gatwick, got through everything and again to the boarding gate. The guy did stumble a bit and had to call several people to double check, but in the end I couldn't get through.
I made my way back home dejected and notified the groom of everything and its all good.
Its a lesson learnt.
I will now renew passport and not have to worry about this ever again for another decade !!!!!!!
Some tips for people in similar situations:
- Sign up for the normal standard renewal to get the PEX code
- Turn up at the passport office in person ASAP and give them PEX code
- Even better, check you travel document a few months before you travel!! lol

Thanks for the update @Rony - even though it seemed unlikely you would get on the flights - as it was for a special life event I admire your persistence in trying .Although it didn’t work out; I’m sure someone will benefit from you sharing your experience.1

You see know you have lost a lot- Did not get a nice sleep. Nice sleep is expensive.- Wasting a few hours to travel to the airport and back home. But anyway if yo learn it in a hard-way, I reckon you will not forget this hard lesson ....0
