I recently got a matching kettle and toaster, not that they are next to each other in the kitchen, but there was an offer on. Neither of the previous items were broken but very shabby after many years of use. The replacements are so much more efficient and look a lot nicer.

Tomorrow I’m hopefully heading to where you were for your walk and probably the big shopping mall too. Hoping to buy a new top.
I’m sorry to hear that your trip with your mum was marred with news. Fingers crossed things resolve, if they can.
We only had the one lot of snow but we passed a lot of thick snow and ice on Friday on our trip along the big river that flows in my little town out to see. It surprised me how thick it was in the shaded areas but completely clear where the sun had been.

Also hoping your Dad is feeling better soon.

How annoying about the kettle - I hope it had at least lasted a decent length of time as you certainly expect a fair lifespan out of Bosch appliances don't you. I'm still limping along with my kettle with the button that lifts the lid not working - it's annoying, but not enough to make me spend the money on a replacement!

  • The electrician said the plug socket had been badly fitted so he wasn't surprised it blew. I now have a new socket but he had to break a tile , not sure how long it will be like that .
Been to HB this morning and literally bumped into an old work friend from my previous job, we ended up in M@S for a coffee and catch up.. By the sounds of it I'm glad I left banking when I did , she has just recently taken early retirement because the stress was making her ill.
In the middle of the housework but stopped for a lunch break , best get going again.
I received surprise vouchers in the post today , for taking out a new health benefit plan, I never realised when I joined up. Have also received a reply to a complaint about a public service agreeing with my complaint. I hope in future that other people don't suffer the same ineptness.

Hope your Dad is feeling better soon. I had to replace my kettle ages ago and ended up buying a cream one but it didn't go with my toaster so I've been waiting for the toaster to pack up ever since, it finally bit the dust so I've now got a two slot toaster instead of four in the same colour as my kettle, you watch the kettle pack up now 😂

Pleased that you had a result re the complaint. It might not help you but hopefully somebody else will benefit from it.
How lovely bumping into your friend. It sounds like you made the right decision to make the move from your old job.
Youve just reminded me I need to check a voucher I’m due to receive for changing my phone sim a while back..

Glad your complaint was upheld.  Good news about the vouchers too.
