Grandparents assembly was lovely followed by MacMillan coffee morning. I feel very lucky that I am able to attend these type of things .
Saturday was a NSD , cleaning , washing all done. Had a quick walk round the block to collect a parcel from local Tesco.Today I have seen my parents , had my Covid booster and done the ironing. Then it's back to work to tomorrow.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3 -
I need to book my Covid booster and flu jab.
Work have done a few MacMillan coffee mornings but none on the days I’m in.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
Work went by very fast this week. I have been Covid boosted and flu jab had in the last two days, no side effects thankfully.Sorted out some financial issues for parents today over the phone, all I can say is lord help any older people who have no one to help them navigate all the hoops you have to jump through , like asking my dad what his credit card limit was on a credit card he had in 2008 , you can imagine the answer.I have also got some of my credit back from my energy supplier, they very kindly put my dd up to £111 from £75 so £111 has become £89 after working it out myself , have left £150 credit on the account. If I need to I will pay extra myself if my bill is big . I will be saving the credit in my extra energy pot.My water rates have increased by £2.20 as well not so bad.Have a rather large for me credit card bill about £440 , need to move money from relevant pots to pay it off.I can't wait to get my works pension in December to be slightly better off monthly.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

I agree with you on the difficulties older people have with tech. It's hard enough for me and I use tech every day. If they ask me CC limits - I look it up on exp*rian while talking to them!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

All very organised there SG2. I have to say these days a day doesn't pass when I'm not immensely grateful that my Mum is SO savvy - but in terms of her use of modern tech and very much so in her ability to advocate for herself.
If I'm asked questions that no reasonable person could be expected to know the answers to while on a phone call then I tend to point out that it's unrealistic to expect someone to be able to pick the information out of thin air, and suggest they ask something more accessible - it's rare they refuse and it underlines the point that the questioning is unreasonable.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

EH thanks for the tip, will definitely ask next time.Eldest DGS has been at an overnight trip with school learning to be soldiers , building fires, assault courses , he will have loved it .Youngest DGS here today as usual , then DGD is staying tonight and I am on activity duty tomorrow morning. Going to my parents this morning with DGS .Had a disaster at the cash machine yesterday my money didn't come out but it debited my account and spat a piece of paper out saying it hadn't debited my account. Phone call to an online bank and was all sorted in 10 mins . Then went to the smiley man at the post office for my cash.Happy Friday .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.1
