Just milk to add to my total this week (delivered so more pricey, but better as no shop visits to be tempted by!) - so another £6.86 my total for monthly GC, DD, subscriptions and stores is £88.25.
I know I will need apples, lemons (to make cordial) and salad and I will have a subscription delivery on 18th but this might be all for the next weekSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

@goldfinches thank you for that tahini cookie recipe. That looks promising even though I don't have or like dates. I wonder what I could substitute in there. Some of the comments mentioned chocolate chips. I could just buy a single regular dark chocolate bar and chop it up, I'm guessing.

Another couple of spends this morning as needed a few bits so decided to do them as we needed to pop out to the chemist to pick up prescriptions anyway. Total spend is now £66.02 so £133.98 left for the rest of the month so looks like I should come in under my reduced budget (hopefully)!6

I too love a Buddha bowl and have Greying to thank for introducing me to the idea! 😁
£2.59 spend yesterday on a Gr3ggs TGTG bag which yielded an egg mayo sandwich, a cheese ploughman’s roll, and two steak bakes. The sandwich/roll have given us a bit of a variation on the usual for lunch today, and the steak bakes will be for lunch tomorrow as we have an online meeting to attend from 11am > mid afternoon so those will be ideal to grab in the 20 minute or so lunch break!I’m heading to Al’s shortly for the first “proper” shop of the month - there will be a T’s visit tomorrow as well I think to stock up on some of the things I identified as surely being at imminent risk of price increase.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

£5.80 spent in Mr M at lunchtime on frozen veg, cleaning products, ketchup, tonic water, bread and two small potatoes which came to 48p
My total is now £132.88/£140. Almost certainly going over budget, will just try to mitigate amount.
I'm making a lentil and barley stew tonight for next week's lunches.
Considering growing my own potatoes at this rate.6 -
@JingsMyBucket - any dried and chewy fruit that you like the taste of would be my suggestion as a substitute for the dates. I think apricots, sultanas or figs would all be nice.
I had to go into M*rks yesterday for more milk, cheese and salad items and somehow spent £17.91 which makes my new total £72.60/£124 and my average daily spend £5.58. This isn't good at all and I am resolving yet again to pull my socks up. I do wish that once I've pulled them up they would stay up on their own, it is so demoralising to realise that you've got to do the work all over again. Bah humbug! Back to the washing up mountain, grrrr.7
