@goldfinches your cookies look amazing. I have a similar recipe that I make up when allergy GS's stay and the beauty of them is that you can quickly make them when they are here as extra snacks.
@Greying_Pilgrim you are doing amazingly well. I am in awe of what you have managed so far. With prices rising it is getting harder for everyone. You are an inspirational.
@MissRikkiC so looking forward to baby news. It can't be long now.
Everyone on here has a hand in the savings that I have made this year. I am ashamed to say that I was spending £300 a month on 2 of us without thinking about it before I joined this forum and although I don't seem to stay inside my target each month I have to keep reminding myself that I have still saved tons and done away with food wastage. Next month I need to make sure I keep some money in reserve for the unexpected as it is illness and extra visitors who make the bills higher. Also when hubby go's shopping!! am learning all the time.

This has been my week: Today we were supposed to be picnicking and having a meal out so as it is his birthday I've asked OH to decide between a favourite takeaway or frugal fakeaway. He's still thinking about it...
Monday was:
B - overnight oats
L - avocado guacamole toastie/pork sandwich for himPork steak with caramelised onions and cheese, roast tatties, garlicky green beans, broccoli (basically a Hello Fresh recipe, but I did it myself)
Tuesday was:
B -scrambled egg on toast
L - chicken wraps and crisps
D - pan-fried mackerel with shallots and lemon, mash, steamed broccoli and carrots
Wednesday birthday treat foods
B - pain au chocolat
L - pork sandwich
D - my proposed fakeaway... brinjal curry, courgette pakora, mushroom rice, cucumber/yoghurt/mint raita, mango chutney.
S: banana and chocolate cake
Thursday
B- overnight oats
L - soup
D - ratatouille pasta
Friday
B - Friday fried egg sandwich
L- houmous and carrot sandwich
D - shepherd's pie
Saturday
B - porridge
L - soup
D - butternut squash risotto
Sunday
B - pancakes
L - sardines on toast
D - Sunday roast and veg.*
* The freezer will be running low on proteins then so OH wants to go to the butcher. I'm still finishing my month on 25th because we're away and our food is all paid for so this should be fine.Keep reading books!

Is it not toooo far away that the baby is due @Soontobeoap I will share once the bundle is here as we don’t no what we are having at this stage! What I do know is that I am hungry! Trying to get proteins in but ultimately I just want more food…. I think especially when something is nice and you have food and recipes on the mind all the time it’s hard not to just want to eat all the things; all of the time!!Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

@elsiepac can you put me down for £125 please. I'm struggling on £80, and only overspending anyway, so the same difference. However, it was a huge drop from £220/200, so I suppose I shouldn't beat myself up too much. My new month starts on the 13th.

Six weeks since cooking oil has beenout of stock at Asd@,I am hoarding the last quarter of my last bottle.I have happily managed to get beef dripping so am frying with that. Had to lightly fry Mr Ds salmon in it,before cooking it in his favourite sauce, and he never twigged,so thats a relief
I gave up on butter for his daily breakfast omelette over a year ago, sustituted margarine which he has adapted to OK,but now the marge has gone up from £1.35 to £1.95 in a matter of months.
