Try the 3 Data Reward sim first, free to order and min top-up of £2 to get full calling functionality.
Just in case the problem is (say) the phone or the quality of wi-fi signal.1 -
Thank you for the suggestion0

I've been hesitating because Trustpilot reviews for Three are appalling, but none of the others are much better (EE's a bit pricy for me). I've been looking at Smarty as they piggy back off Three, but they don't have phone support for issues which may be a bit of a problem, I don't know 🤔Also calls on three on crystal clear, they use hd voice. Only noticed the other month on my screen it says hd. Can notice the difference when i use my other sim in my dual sim fone1

Yes, it works really well for both phone calls and text messages. Any switchover between the mobile signal and WiFi is seamless and the call quality is excellent.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 and when I inserted the Three SIM and powered up it immediately connected to WiFi calling.
I'm now on O2 and with them I had to get them to activate the facility as it didn't work automatically.1 -
Thanks for this Neil490

Sorry to resurrect this, but to add to the situation, in addition to having no signal where I live, I've now tried Three in my closest town where I work, and the Three signal is virtually non existent there (despite what the coverage checker states). So I was looking at 1pmobile (EE), however, on speaking to a sales person from 1pmobile, I was advised that WiFi calling relies on having at least a small signal and if I don't have that, then I won't be able to get WiFi calling at all. In my ignorance, I thought that the purpose of WiFi calling was that it was exactly for the purpose of having no signal. Has she advised me correctly, please?0

In my case on three,as soon as i get down to 1 bar wifi calling kicks in. If i put my fone in airplane mode, no signal on sim. But as soon as i switch my wifi back on wifi calling appears. So it does work with no signal1
