Morning all, it's a bit grey today but at least it's supposed to be dry until about 4pm.  DH is taking our friend's family home later on as there are no trains - I was going to go but would end up being squashed in the middle of the back seat as friend's son is 6'9" tall so really needs to sit in the front seat - don't think he'd manage in the back seat!  So I'm hopefully going to get my outside freezer defrosted and sorted out so that I can actually find things in it.  I've already said to DH I want to run it down and get rid of it and replace it will a smaller upright - there's only 2 of us so don't really need a F/F and big chest freezer!  It will also make it much easier to sort out our menu plan for the time we're at home in January!  Not sure if I've said that DH has booked another holiday for a month's time!

Hope you're finally testing negative @bubbs!  It certainly seems to be hanging around.  Had to laugh at your dad taking his PJs off, not funny really but it is to read it, especially his answer!  I think you're right about him not being home this weekend - it usually takes them ages to sort out a care package and at this time of year it's definitely going to be worse.

    Today's plan:

    B - cheese omelette - P; HEA2
    L - ham salad sandwich - HEB; P; S; 0.5
D - jerk chicken, rice 'n' peas - P; S; F; 2.5 (chicken has been marinading overnight so hopefully plenty of flavour)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - LTL mayo 0.5; light coconut milk 1.5; maple syrup 1

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all (peering over the cheese mountain),

Sorry for not posting these last few days but just a really busy time and I don't like posting on my phone as I have fat fingers and bad eyesight! I have read back and glad to hear you all had a nice Christmas.

Sorry your DDad is still in hospital @bubbs and that you were still positive as of yesterday - just so frustrating, but glad you had a nice Christmas day. I hope the care package can be sorted for DDad to return home soon x

We had family over Christmas Eve and it was noisy and raucous, but great to see everyone. DD didn't drink as had to drop BF home (yes, she's still with him...) then Christmas Day we had Mum for lunch but DS2 went to his GF's aunt's, so all a bit Piccadilly Circus. DD went to get BF early evening, and they drank almost a litre of vodka and then talked all through the film we were trying to watch. They then went to bed and made a LOT OF NOISE. I mean - book a room guys.... So fed up! Have had a conversation with her about it - just so disrespectful.

Boxing Day we were at the outlaws for a buffet tea. I have put on at least 4lbs, as haven't held back, so today that stops!

Have had a use up of Christmas Day veg in a kind of bubble and squeak this morning. We are going for a walk later as it's a nice day and will have LO Christmas meat and pickles for dinner later. We did a turkey crown and a leg of lamb. I'm going to freeze the lamb for another time. The turkey and ham from Christmas Eve will go into a pie tomorrow. It has a puff pastry lid, so easy for me to forego that and just eat the filling with a ton of veg.

So much cheese to use up - both what we bought and as gifts. DH will need to demolish that as I need to eat better for the remainder of the week.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Negative yet @bubbs? 🤔✌🏼

Our visitors went yesterday evening but DD2 is calling in shortly for an unexpected visit.  She messaged to say she planned to call in today. I suspect they've been to the shops as we live close to city centre. I wouldn't be surprised if they've been out for breakfast at Bill's or somewhere, but we're hardly short of food if she wants anything! 🤣

    Back soon.😊

@bubbs - going to Tenerife this time - DH decided he wants a bit more warm weather!  He's driving me up the wall at the moment - he's looking for somewhere for Christmas now!!!

Glad you've finally got a Negative result.

@Coxy11 - I would have been having words with my DD if she stayed here and made loads of noise!  Definitely very disrespectful.

Not looking forward to WI tomorrow!  I've had a reasonable week considering it's Christmas but probably not done enough to lose anything.  I've added up the syns and I've only had about 80 over the week, even if most of them were on Christmas Day!  What will be will be!

Trouble is with another holiday and only 4 WIs (including tomorrow) it doesn't give me long to shift the weight beforehand!
