Big life decision

My family are from Stoke. It went rapidly downhill when the potteries all went to the wall, and there’s not much taken their place. It’s also a series of smaller towns linked together, some better than others.Although you obviously have a budget, I would have a serious think about what’s important to you in a move and get a list of priorities for the area you want to live in. Do that before you start looking at houses. Sometimes they’re cheap for a reason. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Try reading a diary of @another_casualty He moved from London on his own to Poole a few years back although he did know one person in the area.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I find it concerning your deciding to move to Stoke when you haven't heard of it until yesterday.
When you say private places won't take you on unless you live there have you tried applying for jobs yet. I would personally wait until you secured a job first before moving even if It means moving to rented place before hand.
Have you told your boyfriend you don't want to move to Germany? You also say it can't carry on for long doing long distance. So what do you think will happen there.
I think you need to take a deep breath because sounds like your making too tash discions. Look at your soa you mention you took out a phone contract during a high episode and regret it. You need to take time to work out your best plan of action.
Also even of your a cash buyer when you have sold your home you may still be part of a chain. It can take months to complete a sale onl your house when you have found a buyer and obtain the money..plus it's stressful process. How will you cope during this if your have highs and lows.
Even then it could take months for a buyer to put in an offer.
It's not a quick fix.

Thank you all for your replies.
For now, I am going to do nothing. I will pay my bills as best I can and go from there.
My boyfriend knows I am not coming to Germany, he cannot leave his son there so that's us done.
He's the only man I've ever trusted and loved so it's a great shame.
I am such a recluse, moving to Stoke makes sense to me. It doesn't matter what is or what is not going on outside the front door - I don't go out much so it really doesn't affect me. I would need to work though so I will need to think more carefully about that. I'm good at my job at least so less worried than I should perhaps be.
My licence is up for renewal with DVLA in November and I am not compliant with my treatment plan so I must hold on until then as I may lose my licence again.
I'm off to bed, give my weary head a rest. Thanks for all the excellent advice and support. No one shot me down in flames!
- Appreciated!2 -
Not compliant with treatment plan has just jumped out at me.
This could be why your having a bad episode.
As for being a loner it's called being introverted. Nothing wrong with that but you still need to be somewhere safe.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

Thank you. I cannot tolerate the side effects of antipsychotics and am having my first episode since last year so not bad going.
I have a new drug but am waiting until I have a few days off at Easter so I can try it and not be affected at work
Safety is really important, I agree. Everyone deserves somewhere safe to live2 -
I hope the new drug is the one for you x Its horrid that you have to try different things at a time you need less stress in your life isn't it. Keep fighting 💪Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

Good luck with your decisions and try not to make them on the spur of the moment, in your situation. These things need to be planned and worked out.
Plenty of nicer places than stoke, for cheap rates, merseyside gives you a fantastic city, close to the beaches of Southport and Formby, great people and IMO nicer than Stoke.
