Mobile phone contact’s very expensive. Question is do you really need a new phone most phone contacts will cost you £1200 over 2 years that’s not including inflation rate change every year. Keeping your old phone sim only deals As little as £60 a year 👍

I always buy a 2 or 3 years old premium phone for a third of the price. Like cars, let someone else take the depreciation.1

I pay about £100 for a phone and spend about £20 a year on PAYG.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I would be nervous about using an old phone that no longer received updates, but the new one doesn't need to be flagship to be up-to-date (e.g Pixel Na models) or on a high cost contract.

I think it is a no brainer to go for sim only. I switched to this around 2.5 years ago(not sure what took me so long) Updates may become an issue but haven't done so yet. I paid for my phone in saved rental after about 20 months. There is no need for a replacement at this point. It works perfectly well. When, eventually, it is replaced it won't be by a phone that costs as much as a small car!0

I'm a big technology enthusiast but I've never bought a phone on contract in the last 15 years and never paid more than £240 for a phone, which I've used with a SIM-only SIM.
I can't see why anyone wants to pay over £1,000 for a phone.
And why anyone buys an iPhone is a mystery to me!1 -
Some people buy expensive cars, TVs, watches, houses, computers, bikes, holidays, etc.
We all have some areas we prioritise spend on.
Not usually about need.5 -

And why anyone buys an iPhone is a mystery to me!If j want to sell this phone I’d get a good chunk of money back.It works out good value for me as I like nice tech and not cheap tat.4 -

Currently using £170 phone.
My last 5 phones are all around £200. On average, I used them for 1.5 years and usually manage to resell for around £80.
