I've just been through this (support group).
ESA took approximately 2 weeks to tell UC of my status.

    I helped the process by:
Adding a journal note immediately after my UC claim to confirm I was at the time of submitting the claim in receipt of ESA SG IR + CB.
(For the UC application process it only asks you a Yes/No question about other benefits)

Telling the Work Coach at my Claimant Commitment meeting (mine was in person, it seems to vary as to how this is done, I've seen others talk about phone calls and even just pressing a button on the journal) my circumstances.

She didn't know what she was doing so asked a colleague who set her straight.
She had to book another appointment (which I didn't end up needing to attend) due to the computer system but did turn off a bunch of requirements while I was there.

Hi, thank you that's very helpful. I think its the process I find daunting, having been on esa for such a long time now. But with things the way they are and finances etc I need to be realistic and will be moved over to it sooner or later anyway.

You report the details of the Fit Note as part of the claim. UC may ask to see it at some time.

One last question I promise. With council tax support does it stop entirely then restart? As I get council tax support now just wondered how that is affected.

It will continue but the way it is calculated may change depending on the rules of your local authority.

That's fine, not worried about it changing just worried about it continuing as due that energy rebate in the next few weeks and didn't want that to be affected.

The energy rebate has nothing to do with Council Tax Reduction anyway.
