Hi sorry I haven't replied sooner, for some reason I don't get notifications of when someone has applied.
Here is what entitledto says :
We have worked out that if you claimed Universal Credit your total benefits would be £34.55/weekly more than under the existing benefits system.Total benefits entitlement
(Under the current system)
£1395.88 / monthlyTotal benefits entitlement
(Under Universal Credit)
£1544.38 / monthlyOur estimate is based on the information you have entered and does not guarantee entitlement. It uses 2022/23 benefit and tax rates.

You haven't given any information for anyone to advise whether you will be better off, though i can't see it myself. Are you single or live with a partner? Any dependent children? do you rent or own your home? Do you currently claim any disability benefits like PIP or DLA?0
-
Unfortunately giving us the total amounts doesn't help us tell what is going on.
What is the breakdown of the payments in the calculation result?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
I don't really want to give that information on a public forum but happy to PM the actual figures if anyone wants to have a look?0
-
Sorry but i don't give advice through PM. We can't help without more information. If you don't want to give the information then you should get a full benefits check from an agency near you. https://advicelocal.uk/

I am coming back to this as anyone local has a very long waiting list.
Ok my details have changed slightly due to other factors changing but if I put my info in it says monthly I should get £900.93 on esa/HB/council tax
Single adult - age 43
Son who is 26 working 25 hours a week at 9.50 an hour
I get esa main phase, wrag, claim was made before 2017, council tax band a
It says if I change to UC I would/should get £1049.90 a month
Thanks for any help.0 -
That is plausible
The LCWRA element of UC is worth more than ESA Support Group.
If your son is expected to contribute to the rent the expected contribution will be less under UC.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
Thank you for the quick reply, so seems might be in my interest to move over.0
-
Just potted that you said you are in the WRAG, not the Support Group, so the LCWRA amount is not relevant.
The difference, assuming the results are correct, is most likely explained by the difference in the amount your son will be expected to contribute to the rent.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1
