Afraid so, whether you or I can have the account has no bearing on whether the account has the top rate in the market.

Anybody else having problems transferring cash from their Chase savings account to their Chase current account? I've requested several times in the app in the last half hour but none have gone through despite it acknowledging it's been done.

well sort of
having problems transferring from Chase current to Chase savings as well as problems with paying money out from Chase current to my Santander account.
It doesn't seem that anything is leaving my current account at the moment but technically there is plenty of time for these faster payments to go through.

You raise a valid point, but all banks suffer IT problems from time to time.

They will solve their problems and people will be able to open accounts normally in a day or two.

Maybe they've come in at 1.5% and will just stay there as others overtake them... eventually.

I am.  And a family member, although they had made the mistake of filling up with petrol BEFORE moving the money from savings to current account.  Can't see anything on their status update page about it yet.

I transferred some money from my Santander account to my Chase savings account  about 15 mins ago and it is not showing, which is unusual as normally it is virtually instant. Maybe they are just having an IT problem at the moment.

There have been IT problems off and on for a while now. I'm finding it hard to believe it is capacity driven, but it's been fine for over 6 months prior to the launch of the latest offer.
