Poor service from Estate Agent

The Sales Progressor does everything you expect the Estate Agent to do. My sale just completed and they used a company called ASAP. I found them easy to deal with, they made weekly chases to both solicitors until we completed1

The majority of EAs out source sales progression. Honestly i don't understand why you are so bothered by this, house marketed, buyer found and you have now exchanged contracts.
You'll be hard pressed to get a discount, just focus on completing your sale.1 -

Outsourced sales progression is never going to be as good as the 'traditional' model - where the EA gets to know the seller, gets to know the buyer, shows the buyer round the property, negotiates the sale and then progresses the sale by calling the seller and buyer each week. And the EA steers around problems by negotiating compromises with the seller and buyer.
But that's a relatively expensive model.
It's cheaper to use an admin person in a call centre to do sales progression.
I expect outsourcing to call centres results in a few more sales falling through. But I guess the EA firms have done their sums, and worked out that the saving in employment costs outweighs the lost fees from sales falling through.
I guess this is the sort of thing you should quiz EAs about when they come to value your property.

It was only yesterday while talking to the EA, I realized they have outsourced it.0 -
Is there a GDPR angle to this ? My details being shared with a 3 rd party sales progressor without my concent? Or the couple of line I found in agreement (posted earlier) are enough to cover this?0

My experience with ASAP sales progression is that they are more competent than EAs in progressing the sale. They have a portal were you can check progress and you get updates on what you need to do as a buyer and what the seller needs to do.
Yep. To me the value of the EA doing sales progression is that they can solve problems.
Like when the buyer panics because the survey lists lots of problems, and the buyer wants to knock £20k off the price. Or a buyer or seller panics because they've misunderstood something. (There are lots of panicky buyers and sellers who've misunderstood stuff posting on this board.) A good EA can 'manage' the buyer and seller - and negotiate a solution. For example, a more realistic £5k reduction, instead of a £20k reduction.
But different approaches work better for different people.

How long did it take between offer acceptance and exchange? If it was 2 months, then I don't think there's much anyone could have done to progress it any faster.1
