Can anyone find a Ixus I or Ixus II in any of their local stores? I cant find any. I had a Ixus 400 and the memory slot stopped working. So keen to replace it with another canon as the memory card can be used and read...

    Can anyone help please??
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

I got an Ixus I at Ellesmere Port today for £79.50. Unbelievably cheap - second hand ones sell for much more than this on ebay! The only other one they had left was the display model.

Tracked it down by ringing Boots Customer Care line (08450 70 80 90) - they will check the nearest store to you with stock. They can also arrange for an item to be delivered over to your local store for you if necessary. I must say I found them extremely helpful - the lady I spoke to spent time finding which were my nearest stores with the Ixus I in stock, then rang those stores to check that they physically had what the computer said they had (not always the case - especially if they are down to the last one!), then she reserved me one at Ellesemere Port and rang me back to confirm it. Excellent customer service! Sure enough when I arrived at the store the camera was behind the counter with my name on it - fantastic!

just rang the number, the guy I spoke to wasn't extremely helpful and said they wouldn't send from another store to my local one.

Sounds like it depends who you speak to at Boots. I phone last night to try and find a Sony P100 locally and the lady I spoke to told me that she could not help me locate stock of the Sony P100 as it was discontinued and told me that I would have to visit stores locally to find if they had any in stock !?!?!? Far from excellent customer service that I experienced.

 Don't do it! Any new user on Amazon is extremely suspect when offering such low prices. Anything so low is usually not legit. Amazon say they offer buyer
safety but you very rarely get your money back and in most cases they tell you to recover it from your credit card company instead which takes ages and is a massive hassle. If you really want a cheap one get one from ebay from a seller with some decent feedback.

thanks, think I'll take a chance on this one, even though it's a new seller and seems very cheap: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000684HQO/qid=1118926960/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_19_1/202-7313211-1073458

    any thoughts please?

I noticed alot of the camera that boots are selling are sub 4mp this means you do not need a huge amount of flash memory. Also the memory does not have to be very fast as the models on offer have the slower memory controllers from a year or 2 ago. The newer 5 and 8 mp units have faster processors and memory throughput.

I have a 4mp IXUS and use 3 CF cards, 2 96M cards and a 129M card. So the memory offers on ebuyer with FREE shipping might be worth a look?

Flash Memory (Compact Flash,SD,MMC,etc) with free shipping on www.ebuyer.com click the free shipping logo on the right and select flash memory.

If you have a 3mp or 4mp camera some of the lower size memory cards are fine. Scroll through the list and see what is cheapest as the first items are not always the best value.

THE LIST IS SORTED BY BRAND NOT MEMORY TYPE! Search the list for you type of memory.

This Lexar 64MB Multimedia is £4 inc vat and free delivery

Or a 128 CF for £8.92 inc vat and free delivery

    Hi
Got a P100 at the Bolton Shipgates store yesterday - stock levels said they had two, but they were sure that they had looked for it before and said that the display one was the only one left.

Noticed they had the Minolta Xt and G400, not sure on stock levels. They had the Canon A310 but didn;t see the Ixus I or II.
