I didn't read the description that closely, but I noticed that on the onvoice it says "Minolta Dimage Z10 (Free Case)" and mine also did not come with a case. You could check your invoice too and give them a call - let me know how you get on if you do.
  • Hi Nick

You are right I've just checked the invoice and it does say free case so I will give them a call.

I have just noticed that when I move the Z10 from side to side or front to back it sounds like something is moving about inside the case (it's not the metal strap loops on the side). This could be lens rattle or something like that but I would like to know it's OK before I accept it. I was hoping you or someone else could check to see if your camera makes a noise when lightly shaken front to back etc. Any advise appreciated.

    Thanks

The Z10 is not supplied with a free case - its a Boots' mis-description.

They were made aware of this issue some weeks ago and should have rectified their error by now .
  • Not my problem, they agreed to supply one so I want a case or a £10 so I can but one off of ebay. Anyone agrued this point yet?

    Cheers

I didn't get the case and even though I bought mine instore have written to Boots asking if I should have a case as I bought my Z10 'open' so don't know if there should have been anything else in the box or not. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

However, I have just bought a proper padded case on ebay as i prefer a proper case I can put round my neck as I have a habit of putting things down and forgetting them.

Hmm, yes I have a sort of 'clunk' as well when I move the camera from side to side. However, I don't think there is anything wrong as it takes absolutely fantastic photos, I am well pleased.

Yes, they have offered me £5
  • Thanks for that Tonyg, was that a discount voucher or hard cash credited back to you card?

Also; I would be really grateful if someone would check thier Z10 to see if it sounds like something is moving around inside when you rotate it through 360 degrees? I think I might have to send mine back and they don't have anymore stock so would appreciate advice.

    Thanks

I have seen a Minolta Dimage Z1 3 mega pixels and 10x optical zoom for £115. Is this better or worse quality than a camera that is 4mp with 3x optical zoom?

4mp is better than 3mp, but 10x optical zoom is better than 3x optical zoom. Depends how important the zoom is to you....
Thanks to all who post constructively.
