Slow and good is faster than fast and sloppy!
Oo er missus!  Glad you all think the same way

Nearly there - doors and drawer fronts are going on.  Boiling water tap is causing much confusion and necessitating many calls to the manufacturer (despite fitter having one installed at home!)  Worktops to be oiled, skirting to be fitted then fitters are done, hopefully tomorrow but more likely by Thursday.  We need to settle up for skirting boards directly, everything else is covered by installation costs which are on finance until February.

Tiler to come back next week - we need to order tiles but were given a strong hint that they might be in the sale shortly so waiting for that.

£25 from TCB for opening donor account.  Now that's in I've started a switch for £200 - ID has been verified so just waiting for that to be confirmed.

    OP £441 / £520.

Mortgage statement through - they are proposing to reduce payment due to OPs so I need to call them today to ask them not to reduce it - in fact we are going to round it up by £19.  It really is psychological for me OPing as we can get better rates in savings but it helps me feel we are making progress.

Had to send off a form to transfer OH's matured cash ISA into his flexible ISA - sent that last Thursday so not sure when we will hear. Rather frustrating as I've always done transfers online and they've been very quick.  There's £20.8k sat earning 0.1% when it could be earning 5%!

OH got given a gift card by work so we have put that towards National Trust membership which only cost us £51 - going to try and use that as much as possible starting this weekend.

Have set up OP to mortgage to round payment up by £21 (after they had reduced payment by £2).

Kitchen fitters have finished so starting to put everything in its new place.  Lots of cleaning and decluttering to do  Still got to get lights fitted and wire in the appliances but it feels so good having the house back to ourselves - am still in my PJs at 9.45!!!

Listed a couple of things on FBMP yesterday and started new boxes for WBB and Ziffit.  Got lots to list - oven, microwave / combi, sideboards which we used to use in the kitchen - so going to be busy this weekend but want to make sure we get some downtime by using the NT membership.

SIPP and S&S ISA are looking a lot healthier than a few months ago!  Looking forward to updating my pension spreadsheet with the figures at the start of the new financial year!

Just done a survey sent through the post for £5 voucher and OH is going to do it too - I'm sure we will have more kitchen stuff to put it towards!  Just ordered a cutlery tray (old sideboard had a built in cutlery drawer) and a compost caddy which can go inside the cupboard under the sink to get more clutter off the worktop.  We do have most things so can't think of anything else we might want but I'm sure there will be something

Glad your kitchen is coming together at last and you get a brief break from the workmen.

How lovely on the vouchers. Enjoy your NT membership.

Well done on the free switching £ too - it all helps.

Just heard from vets - one of our cats went in for a dental (poor thing's teeth did look bad considering he is only 5YO) and just had a call to say he needs 8 / 9 teeth out at an estimate of £1,200.

Thankfully I've just sold a butcher's block on FBMP for £50 and two running leads for £10

Managed to parcel up box for Ziffit which has been waiting for a week - need to send that off today - and starting a new box for WBB.  Top sold on Vinted for £2 - off to sort more to list.

Just feels like the bills are never ending at the moment and my ability to bring in extra money is rather limited.  OH is in France for a driving holiday, we got cash out for him to pay hotels and food so that will need to be paid for next month.

    Hmmpphh, it will get better!
  • Ouch on the cat bill, pets can be so expensive, totally worth it though!

Thanks for the sympathy over vet bill.

£200 switching bonus received which is shuffled to savings.

Bit more cashed out from PA and have parcelled up Ziffit box to drop off on my way to work.
