HSBC account closure

So how long have you had the account? Are all your personal details still the same as when the account was opened. There are many things that can cause a issue. But the fact it is a immediate closure. Tell you it's a serious issue.Ezii said:
I haven't told hsbc anything at all. I just noticed that the account stopped working/stopped transfers on the 16th, and since haven't been able to use, and called them to find out after 16th, and they wouldn't tell me the reason, but I've not done anything dodgy either. Do you think I've got a CIFAS? by the letter? the only transaction I've had recently was for the MacBook and micro deposit for ebay.born_again said:
Given the wording of the letter, & a immediate closure Not the normal 60 day closure. HSBC will not reopen acc on a complaint & will happily let it go to FOS as clearly something the OP told them has not stacked up. In a serious way.RN61 said:I'd make a SAR to HSBC as well, and consider making a complaint and following through to the FOS - which costs HSBC £750 even if the FOS finds against you, as is almost inevitably the case with bank complaints made by consumers.
Would be easier to simply find out what they have reported to CIFASLife in the slow lane0 -
all of the information is the same besides work, and opened the account in 2021 early0

I don't get what you are trying to imply here.born_again said:

Probably not implying anything but University and work?

Right, so had news from cifas, and I've got a marker from monzo. Not HSBC. I've now just noticed my monzo has been closed, and monzo had put a marker on my file for Misuse of facility. I have used monzo to receive funds for the Bitcoin I've sold, but not sure why they've claimed it fraudulent? doesn't make any sense at all0

I have just called Monzo, and they've said that they will get in touch with me in 24 hours, and have a final response letter I am extremely confused about what is going on exactly not done anything wrong but yet I'm having to go through this nightmare of a process and just worried all my other banks will follow suite with closure.0

Very confusing 🤔 hopefully monzo gets in touch and resolved their mistake!Ezii said:I have just called Monzo, and they've said that they will get in touch with me in 24 hours, and have a final response letter I am extremely confused about what is going on exactly not done anything wrong but yet I'm having to go through this nightmare of a process and just worried all my other banks will follow suite with closure.0 -
I honestly do hope so it's been such a nightmare, literally haven't done anything wrong and have to deal with this, stress and my mental health deteriorating as a result of having to chase this up consciously worried about my other banks will close.Rt0168 said:

Have you checked your credit reports to see the exact information that has been reported to them? There are several CIFA’s categories, it would be worth knowing which category you’ve been reported against before beginning your complaint.
You will most likely be refused standard bank accounts now for next 6 years that CIFA’s stays on your file, it would be worth ensuring that you have a backup plan for bills and savings in case you cannot access your money for a while. If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
