Yeah but if I've currently got 4 current accounts at the moment I wouldn't be able to fit in the criteria to open the nationwide flex account. It's rather just silly I'm unable to open it and transfer the funds in case it does get closed- at least I'll be able to have access to funds and set up new direct debits ect. Because of my main bank just decides to close one day. It'll be a new headache to deal with having all of the direct debits set up, not to mention quick access to funds in case I need them. I tend to just use
Can you point to where on the Nationwide website you are finding the criterion that you can't open a Flex account if you have multiple current accounts?
    Have linked it above
If they won't let you have a FlexBasic, chances are they would offer you one of their other current accounts.. Only way to find out is by applying.

Though I don't understand why you can't just use one of your existing accounts.
Just concerned that my other banks will get closed much like my hsbc did.

You have not linked to information about the Nationwide Flex account but to the Nationwide Basic account.  The Flex requirement regarding other accounts is not to have more than 4 existing Nationwide sole or joint current accounts.

ETA:  Reading back, I see that the recommendation had been about the FlexBasic account but |I don't think you had  repeated that account name.

But why not open an instant access savings account?

Because a savings account is no use without a working current account as you generally can now only deposit from, and withdraw to, a current account in your name.

Also, savings accounts don't come with debit cards, and most do not have Direct Debit facilities. Being without a current account is a serious limitation on anyone's lifestyle. Thus the obligation that that banks must give everybody apart from the most severe criminals at least a basic account.

Whatever is the problem? I gave you the link to the FlexBasic page (here it is again), and there are several other ways of finding it. You could have applied almost 24 hours ago and know the outcome of your application by now.

    I am out.

FlexBasic - FlexBasic current account | Nationwide

Flex (range of 3 but no FlexBasic) - Compare our bank accounts | Nationwide

The OP used the link  but a flexibasic account is not possible at present as the OP has 4 other current  accounts. So no point is jumping and down because he hasn't applied.

I don't understand how Revolute can add this market by mistake and then not remove it.

If all the accounts are closed, maybe try a credit union account?
