I've just received this in the post, and not sure why they've decided to close my account. Has anyone had this or can help?

Yes, others have had it, but no one can help, other than to suggest that you open accounts elsewhere.
You might also want to check your CIFAS markers and consider what account behaviour might have prompted the closure.4 -

I'd make a SAR to HSBC as well, and consider making a complaint and following through to the FOS - which costs HSBC £750 even if the FOS finds against you, as is almost inevitably the case with bank complaints made by consumers.0

Well have you used your HSBC Account for business use? or did the professor transfer dodgy money to you?
