I doubt that the professor made any dodgy transfers, although he did tell me that recently he was scammed out of some monies.GTR_King said:Well have you used your HSBC Account for business use? or did the professor transfer dodgy money to you?
also have you used bit coin recently
Basically HSBC Have reason to belive you broke their T&C'S and did something you didn't like0 -
I haven't told hsbc anything at all. I just noticed that the account stopped working/stopped transfers on the 16th, and since haven't been able to use, and called them to find out after 16th, and they wouldn't tell me the reason, but I've not done anything dodgy either. Do you think I've got a CIFAS? by the letter? the only transaction I've had recently was for the MacBook and micro deposit for ebay.born_again said:
Given the wording of the letter, & a immediate closure Not the normal 60 day closure. HSBC will not reopen acc on a complaint & will happily let it go to FOS as clearly something the OP told them has not stacked up. In a serious way.RN61 said:I'd make a SAR to HSBC as well, and consider making a complaint and following through to the FOS - which costs HSBC £750 even if the FOS finds against you, as is almost inevitably the case with bank complaints made by consumers.
Would be easier to simply find out what they have reported to CIFAS0 -
Cifas is a fraud prevention service.Several times people asked here about using a personal account for business. Is it really fraud to use a personal account for business?!I don't think so. Prove me wrong.

didn't use it for business, just 1 off sell item for bank transfer. That was literally itgrumbler said:Cifas is a fraud prevention service.Several times people asked here about using a personal account for business. Is it really fraud to use a personal account for business?!I don't think so. I'm just super concerned if I've received a CIFAS.0 -
I haven't done any fraud at all. I've always done everything by the book, literally. One-off sell doesn't add up to why they've decided to close my account and refer me to CIFAS even on the letter.grumbler said:Cifas is a fraud prevention service.Several times people asked here about using a personal account for business. Is it really fraud to use a personal account for business?!I don't think so. Prove me wrong. That's exactly my point. But HSBS's paranoiacs seem to be having some hallucinations. If they did put any CIFAS marker that has nothing to do with the reality, fight it.https://www.cifas.org.uk/contact-us/i-want-to-make-a-complaint

Have you asked him if recalled the payment made for the MacBook? Seems coincidental that you've dealt with him at the same time as your account has been suspended. If this is your only recent account activity.Ezii said:
