Still feeling down and limping along to month end and payday...
To add insult to injury, the Headteacher called me aside when I went in for my breakfast stint and told me that Tiny has been swearing in class and generally misbehaving. Then Small and his friend had a fight and his friend came off worse, making him cry and resulting in my child being remanded by the headteacher. They are both now on electronics bans and I can hear Tiny crying and sniveling about me being the worst mother ever. I dislike them both today.
Shoulder of lamb roasting in the oven, which Small keeps looking at through the glass door. He's hungry, but no snacks or treats are on offer. I was wicked and ate an entire bag of Mini Eggs, without offering them any and I've just made them litter pick in the paddock as there was a feed bag that the dogs had shredded blowing around in little pieces making the place look untidy.
And I've got work tonight. I'm not in the mood for Friday night shinanegins so hope all the drunk people go somewhere else tonight. DH told me he wants me to stop doing night shifts, but until I've got my finances sorted, I cant see me being able yo do that.
So far, no communication from the insurers this week. I'm not impressed.
Oh, but the car passed its MOT, so that was good.

Dizzy.. I hid from the teachers at school tonight.. I just don't need more hassle. ((hugs)) I wouldn't offer them mini eggs if they had behaved like angels.. mine!!!Parcels sent and prescriptions collected so I didn't have to stress about fitting them in tomorrow.. the GP has actually managed to send the right strength cocodamol.. yay.. *applause*I need to do dinner and put knickers in the swim bagI need to sort Jazzles a birthday present..I need to whizz some bit in the oven to take to DD1's tomorrow for Jazzles birthday.. aiming for egg free so Lionel can have some.. Thank you for your wise comments/affirmation of what I am saying. The interview is Tuesday.

Late as usual but I agree with the others Valli - any more than home/life balance is none of their business; it is clearly evident that you weren't sacked or any other "undesirable or sinister" reason for leaving, so they don't need any more info. Enthusiasm for the new challenge is good. When I went from full time to part time at another company, I just think I said that I wanted more time to do 'other things' which included hobbies, the interviewer didn't ask any more.
I got up this morning and decided I'd really fallen off the wagon in the last month as a flylady and nice partner. Yes I've been working, done bits and pieces, but some (too much) sitting around as well. Mr N had a night in the WAC club (anyone notice?) and he is still having a lot of trouble with his RA while waiting for an appointment (dropping things, can't ride his motorbike, limited dexterity for garden and gym). It struck me suddenly that he's tired, frustrated with his hands (or feet, depending where the RA strikes) and I need to DO MORE to take the pressure off him; I'm 7yrs younger. So this morning, before zumba I did a blitz on the kitchen as it looked messy and I knew he'd probably do some flying when he got back from the gym:
- whole load of wudupa
- cleared all surfaces of gibble
- wiped all surfaces
- put recycling in the bin
- wiped toaster, emptied and washed crumb tray
- wiped kettle, DW, WM and fridge/freezer
- swept and mopped floor.
Had a great zumba, first time since before lockdown, I have so missed it.
Filled up car on the way home eek I thought the cost was meant to have come down a bit.
Spent the afternoon gardening with Mr N so I could make sure he wasn't struggling without asking for help. My swim buddy can't come to the lake tomorrow, so I suggested that I go at 9am instead of 10am (ugh) so we can go out for the day, probably the RSPB reserve Iona near Cambridge, and take a picnic. He seemed really keen on the idea; a friend had suggested a motorbike trip and overnight stop and I knew Mr N had had to refuse as he isn't confident about his hands on the bike. He rang the RA clinic this week as they were meant to have sent another appt re some new medication; the message said they were so busy they couldn't speak to anyone until next week.......then in the post he had an appt......end of May.
I replenished some of the flowers on my Ukraine door arrangement, got some grape hyacinths up now.
Was just listening to the news (grim enough) when a friend rang with bad news about her sister who is very ill.
I'm only going to report-write for 15mins now.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
*sneaks in quietly and sits at the back..
I'm sorry I have been absent. I am about 2 weeks behind on the thread, but like to keep up with everyone's news. I will catch up later. Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them.
We had some very bad news recently. My MiL passed away suddenly & unexpectedly 3 weeks ago. Although she was elderly (91 - was to be 92 next month), she was active. She did yoga & an exercise class, lived independently in a house with stairs and had never needed carers or anything. She died peacefully in her sleep. Although it is still a bit raw atm, that will be a comfort when things have settled. Everything is taking an age to sort, and the death certificate was only done today. DH and his siblings hope to arrange the funeral on Monday, but until that is out of the way they are in limbo 😥
Flying wise, everything is ticking over. I tidied the kitchen this morning - not that you would notice now! After work I swept the DR, hall & kitchen and vac'd the LR.
Fayolle I am still here! Thank you for missing me 😁 I have been away the last 2 weekends, so nothing is getting done on the allotment! And the weather has been glorious!! I am planning to spend the day there tomorrow (after parkrun, shower & breakfast), so hopefully i can make a difference.
Sleep well everyone, and hope to catch up tomorrow 😚9 -
Very sorry to read your sad news, GI - but how lovely for your MiL to have kept active and independent for so long xx
I hope MrN gets a cancellation at the horse piddle so that he can start his new medication asap xx
Good luck with the interview, Valli x
My study is a lot tidier than it was, and I have hovered and dusted more than halfway through!9 -
Good morning, everyone x
Hugs, GI. Nice to “see” you back x
Narc0 -I think you’re a fab flylady, and am in awe of what you get through x
Valli - totally agree with the others. My boss would now like me to work 5 days a week, but he knew from when I started that it wasn’t an option, so he hasn’t asked. Good luck x
Bad flylady - it’s been a busy week again at paid stuff. Bad slinky - one area where I can make gains without even trying. I am my heaviest ever now, apart from when I was expecting DD.So today will be allotment slinky flying, because that is now a thing. We have been given 3 pallets to redo the compost heaps, so DH is going to do start that job today. I have more weeds and stones to remove. It’s actually so warm and sunny in the LR, that I am thinking of declaring myself to be a cat, and just curling up here all morning. Ah well, a second cuppa might help shift me.
Have a lovely Saturday all x7 -
Morning all xx
Awake at 5.30 (practising for next week?) but resisted getting up until 6.40. WM is swishing- I chucked everything in to make one load. I've had 2 brews and breakfast- so a slow start.

Aw GI condolences. But a good age and to have been fit and independent...well that's not bad at all.
Another gorgeous day so I have washing to peg out.
And I have work stuff to do...and I was last out again last night.
things I won't miss... (if things go to plan)
arriving at work before 8
leaving work after 6
the never, ever completed 'to do' list
And they are the 3 main reasons for wanting to make a change.
