Not for the latest models. That's pretty much the lower end of the going price.Ibrahim5 said:£26k sounds a lot for a Ford Focus. I have seen a lot for less than that.

It's five years old. They still depreciate although slower than previously.Deleted_User said:

I don't use a car on a daily basis. More for holidays than anything. Driving to the south of France sounds particularly tedious in an electric car.grumiofoundation said:
How often do you drive 250+ miles without stopping and without going on motorways?Ibrahim5 said:Apparently the ipace is electric. I would want a car that didn't keep running out of power if I spent £78k. Not that I ever would.0 -
Oh I see so no risk of running out of power then.Ibrahim5 said:

I don't see the point of buying a £78k car and then having to stop every few hours for a charge. It would be quicker across France in a Trabant than an ipace.0

There are two types of people: those who've driven an EV (who understand the instant torque, smooth ride, insane acceleration, tiny running costs etc.) and those who haven't.Ibrahim5 said:I don't see the point of buying a £78k car and then having to stop every few hours for a charge. The occasional charging stop is no bother at all. You do understand that you don't stand there holding the charging nozzle squeezing the button until it's full (like a petrol pump), right? My car charges while I'm getting on with my life; either at 5p per kWh overnight while I sleep, or for free from surplus solar energy.4 -
Bought a 57 plate Volvo V70 D5, private sale, 3 years ago with 112,000 miles for £2750. It’s now on 143,000 miles. Total spend in 3 years (about £600, tyres, cambelt, mini service and oil changes). I’m very happy with the reliability and costs incurred to run. I’ve previously had newer cars on PCP but have gone back to how I used to buy and run a car.
My “Savings” per month are going into pension and mortgage overpayments.0
