Or do what one guy in our village did - run it on home heating oil. Much cheaper than diesel ......... until he got caught :-(surfer91919 said:

I think heating oil is at least 60ppl now and as you say illegal unless you pay duty which then makes it possibly more expensive than diesel. It's possible to find clean waste rapeseed oil (counter-intuitively chippies are not the best as there's a lot of animal fat in it) for free if you get a bit lucky. Often it's 20ppl though as that is what big companies like oleco give their customers for waste oil offset against new. My fuel works out at about 10p per litre monetary cost. It takes me about 30 mins a week I would guess to make all the fuel.Ebe_Scrooge said:

Why have prices risen so much? More cars crammed with technology or more people taking out PCP deals? As mentioned, I got my Fiesta back in 2013 for £9,500. I was only a few months old and had less than. 1,000 miles. CHEAPEST used Fiesta on Auto trader is like £15k0

Yes prices have went up by about 20% on used cars over the last two years.Deleted_User said:Why have prices risen so much? More cars crammed with technology or more people taking out PCP deals? £9.5K in 2013 is £11.5K in 2021 prices (will be worse after 2022 with inflation) so thats probably about right in the current market.
Issues with supply of new cars, and then pent up demand after the covid lockdowns created a perfect storm.

Edit: What kind of fuel economy are you getting from the Galaxy?Interestingly, the wikipedia page for the Galaxy says:
"In 1999, the MkI Ford Galaxy was rated in a Top Gear magazine survey as the least satisfying car in the United Kingdom"
So I don't buy for a second that you actually think it's better to drive than a Golf that's 25 years newer.
The focus is the runaround, the galaxy for special occasions🙂"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
