Busy morning.Toaster cleaned, dailies done, kitchen sink scrubbed, sofa and cushion covers changed so WM is whirring, dogs walked, downstairs loo s&sd, quickly hoovered through and hung a new door curtain to stop flies coming in.
DH is making a roast chicken dinner today.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Busy morning here too, and, like ASB, so much more on the lists.
Clean washing sorted, HHI, enough allotment space dug to fit in early potatoes and shallots (fingers crossed anyway), wm running with dirty digging clothes and jeans, which can all dry outside. Lunch being cooked (sausage sandwiches as a reward for digging 😉), dw run and emptied, bleach sloshed in toilets in case I run out of time to clean the bathrooms.DH has done….let me go away and think about that one…

Jazee said:In my head I have lots of plans for flying tomorrow but reality may be different.^^^ Wot she said.Claimed my state pension this morning - very quick indeed using gov.uk. The only thing I had to look up was the dates I lived and worked in Australia, so that frog's finally munched. Sorted the freezer drawers and meal planned for next week.It was sunny and not too windy today so I emptied one of the tumbling composters, spread all of that around the apple tree which Belovéd gave a thorough hair cut yesterday and then started on the sundeck trellis pots. All emptied, refilled with newish compost, Belovéd planted up about 10 or so before he wilted and returned to watching footie, and which are now watered and back on the trellis - a job that didn't get done last year and I'm tired of it looking a bit tatty out there. I've got a little table temporarily set up because no rain is due this week so I can crack on a do a few pots at a time over this week before doing the troughs on the railings and then starting on the big pots. This year has been me tackling and quashing my belief that everything must be done thoroughly, perfectly and finished if I'm to start doing it. That may be the way perfectionists think but it's not actually true - better is good enough, even if some of it needs to wait until tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday .... Some of these jobs take ages, I don't have enough energy to do them all in one hit and frankly I run out of enthusiasm after a few hours. There's still a humungously huge job sitting on my desk but I do nibble away at it every week for a few hours and it is falling into place, slowly but surely. I like this way of working now I've signed up for it.
Better is good enough.9 -
Hi all
HB I really struggle with the whole perfectionist thing, I am the same at work and at home, it's so difficult because no-one else expects such high standards from me, I just cant help but put ridiculous demands on myself. I am trying really hard to not be like this.
Lovely 28 miles on the bike with DH, the sun shone and there was coffee and flapjack half way around. That makes nearly six hours riding my bike this week which makes me so happy. Although my job causes me a lot of stress at times I am lucky to work flexibly so that I can have time for myself.
Whole house dusted and hoovered, washing dried outside, sofa throws put though a quick wash and hung out.
Feet up now, going to light the fire and find something quick and easy for tea.11 -
Fire lit, loads of seeds sown, bonfire had for garden waste, showered and in PJs now. Dinner shortly then it’s wine and bed. See you all on the new thread xx

Squeaks show was wonderful.. she was terrified and was still fantastic. Dot had to be removed and taken to the car.I am mentally and socially drained.. to the point of.. I need several days to recover... We have a school to look at for Squeak on Thursday and a nail appointment Tuesday and the roofy guy coming Wednesday .. IF he turns up.. no breath holding going on.
Boog yelled at for behaving like CF.. and told in no uncertain terms it is time he moved out.. I am done with that behaviour.. long since done.

So what have I achieved today?
- prepped breakfast
- dusted the study
- gave DH a lift to his church
- went to my church and (among several other things) taught a small group of chattery 5 - 8yos for 3/4 hour
- did a food shop on the way home
- prepped lunch
- decluttered some tiredness
- prepped our evening meal
- walked Rosie up to the first of the Three Fields, to see the beautiful view and hear the ewes and lambs calling to each other
- mowed the lawn
- finished cooking and served the evening meal
- wrote out my diary dates for the next 3 weeks on the paper mouse pad
- wrote my to-do list for this evening and tomorrow (mainly admin)
It looks better on screen than it did in my head
See you on the new thread... xx7
