Thanks Karma! It feels like a good day. I've also made good progress with this other bit of work and done quite a few PA surveys (heading towards £40 now). And Mr MV is out (and not back this evening) and Mum has been up to London, so I've only had you guys to tell my good news to! Hoping one or both will have time for a chat soonish though and am going to go for a walk before this YG thing - I hope I'm not expected to speak in front of lots of people!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Well YG thing was quite interesting last night and no speaking involved! Should get the follow-up survey this week and then payment a couple of weeks after that. Should have got my F&Cs beforehand (and remembered to feed the cats in advance too) - I could have eaten while watching/listening. Fish and chips was £8.85! And I felt horrible after I'd eaten it, so not going to do that again in a hurry (probably not until our holiday when we'll be near Whitby!).
Slept badly last night, so a late start this morning. I have plenty of work still to do and will need to head into town for a drs appointment later. Will return cat sitting key then too. Olio tonight - but will see how I feel as bad night's sleep plus ongoing issue (hence drs appointment) is not ideal. No idea about dinner tonight, but I'll find something. I am planning on having breakfast for lunch and having a long fast today (especially given the fish and chips last night).
I/we (and actually I think it probably needs to be in Mr MV's name) need to make an application to the Financial Ombudsman today/tomorrow for the solar issues - Eon haven't bothered to get back to us again since we spoke on the phone. And I don't have days of my life to waste because they won't answer the phone in a timely manner. I emailed them again to give them fair warning of this on Monday, so they've more than had their chance. Unfortunately it does seem unlikely that we'll now be getting this money back before the end of our mortgage fix. 😡
MS things:
* Seeds are showing their little green leaves
* Clicks and HW done - £5 withdrawn from one bookie and 50p won with another
* PA survey done - with pending cash, I'm actually at £42 now - very pleased with this
* Have ordered something needed and budgeted for from Ebay (cheapest place) today after opting in for their 20x Nectar points offer
* Checked CCs - despite feeling I've been spending a bit recently, they are both OK - probably due to spending actually being with vouchers!
* Comps in progress
Gratitudes:
* Went for a walk in our bluebell woods last night - they are almost there - plenty of blue, but not the wonderful smell. Dad's birthday is usually the day (next week).
* Cuddly ginger cat did an excellent job of keeping my lap warm last night while I was watching TV
* Seeds sprouting! This is when I get enthused and more seeds go in!

Sorry the F&C felt unpleasant - sometimes when you eat healthily, a lot of fat or whatever can really do you down. A fast is a very good idea. And what a pain about Eon too! The time it takes to sort out this kind of stuff is really underestimated.2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Pah to the F&C not being as tasty as hoped for - was it from somewhere new to you or do you think maybe just a case of somewhere you've used before having an off day/needing a change of oil or similar? Either way, the sort of thing that means you'll not be hurrying back.
Good plan to take the Eon issue to the Ombudsman if the 8 weeks have passed since the formal complaint - it's disappointing that they've not bothered responding either to the original complaint or to the reminder that the deadline is reached. It always frustrates me that if energy suppliers aren't going to engage with complaints they can't be honest about it and not simply issue a deadlock letter at the start to say as much, and allow the customer to go to the Ombudsman Service sooner. Such a waste of everyone's time.
I loved your reference to the closeness of your Dad's birthday to the bluebells being fully out - I have something similar with the horse chestnut "candles" which are usually fully out at the very beginning of May - as a child I was always told that they were birthday candles for my Great Grandma who's birthday was 2nd May - and I still can't see them even now without thinking of that!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Afternoon all,
Thanks Jessy. @EssexHebridean, I think it's more likely that I just don't get on with the greasiness of it - it's from the same place as usual.
So.... I spent (most of) yesterday at the hospital having been referred by the nurse I saw on Wednesday. I came out in a rash on Sunday and she wanted me to have some blood tests. She gave me a letter so I didn't have to sit in A&E but went straight to the medical assessment unit. And I was first there. I am fine in myself, just this stupid rash, but what a drama. 'Are you OK with blood being taken?' the nurse asks. 'Yes, fine', she says having never had a problem previously. Cue drama when I pass out (twice) and then they can't get any blood out of me - next thing I know, I'm on a trolley, I've got oxygen, a crocodile clip, blood pressure monitor, they're pricking my finger for blood sugar and doing an ECG. I am a fainter... this is not unusual... (although has never happened before with blood being taken - and I've given blood in the past!) There must have been 10 people in the room! So embarrassing.... Firmly told off for being dehydrated and having not had breakfast - I'd had a cup of tea, before I went by I was there by 8am - not going to have had 2 pints by that point! Dr comes to see me about rash, sends me for more tests, fine, feel fine. Tests come back fine - he wants to take a some more blood (fine, I think, there's a cannula in me now 🙄). Nope... pass out again and they can't get blood out of me for love nor money - not through the cannula, not from umpteen different veins (well that's what it felt like - I think they tried about 4 in the end). Eventually get the blood needed and I'm allowed to recover and get out of there. Mum picked me up and I spent the rest of the afternoon recovering at hers. Mr MV retrieved me from there and we had a takeaway pizza as neither of us felt up to cooking (he had a banging headache). Feel much better now after a good night's sleep.
So today I'm seriously catching up on work. And preparations for MIL's birthday party tomorrow for which I'm meant to be sorting decorations. And Mr MV's car (i.e. the main one) has a puncture.... need to get that sorted, we've been using mine... which is still not sorted for sale!
Supermarket delivery and R'ford recipe box arrived yesterday - Mr MV ended up wfh in the morning (instead of going to a meeting in Bracknell) due to car issues, dropping me at the hospital and the deliveries.
MS things:
* Clicks and HW done
* 'Free' lunch yesterday - and it could have been worse, but was disappointed that crumble and custard were cold by the time I got to eat it - because they came for that second lot of blood in the middle of lunch 😂
* YG follow-up survey done - so points for that and should get £20 card in a couple of weeks
* PA now tipping over £50 if it all clears by month end
* More work has arrived for US client - deadline Monday
* Pizza is also lunch
Gratitudes:
* The NHS staff were absolutely brilliant - the service was amazing, I hardly waited at all for tests and everyone was *so*, *so* nice.
* Saw Niece and Sis at Mum's after school/work (and usual Niece antics ensued when Mr MV joined us)
* Client is being very fair about work deadlines - I still want it done though!
Have a good afternoon all!

Gosh, what a dramatic hospital incident! Poor you. How unusual to have suddenly become a fainter. Hope that's the end of it and the rash gets sorted out quickly xx5

Wow.. that was all very dramatic! My DH comes over all dizzy and faint whenever he has to have a blood test. He warns them and I make him take something sugary like a biscuit as that usually makes him feel much better.I hope you have a very dull but productive day today to make up for it.2025 decluttering: 3,984🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅
