The 4 pts of milk I got on Thursday was £1.15, its normal price, and I noticed that by Friday it had gone up to £1.25. The cynic in me wonders who is getting that extra 10p.6 -

I didn't get bread flour on my last SM delivery (out of stock) but did manage to get one locally this morning. Whilst I don't want to hoard, I do use it regularly for bread, malt loaf, tea loaves etc, so don't particularly want to run out. I usually have one in use and two spares so am stocked up again. I may well consider getting a couple more as I believe wheat production has been and will continue be affected by current affairs in Ukraine. My dried yeast is also running down so that's another item to be on the lookout for.

I love Yorkshire Tea, so have bought the really large bags of over 1000 t-bags from Amazon, along with 6 family bags of no-added sugar Alpen muesli, also from Amazon. And at £20 it works out cheaper than the shops5

May be worth considering, depending on how much you get through, and your views on 'best before' dates.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Allinson-Easy-Bake-Yeast-Pack/dp/B00AJSEPXQ/ (don't forget to subscribe & save

I got some back in 2017. Best before October 2019, but it's still working as well now as it was 5 years ago. I've still got 3 unopened tins, but I plan to restock from the same source if it's still available in a couple of years.3 -
I am keeping an eye on the price of cooking oil, we normally always have at least one as back up but I may increase that to 2 or 3 in the short term. It doesn't mean buying loads though, just an extra over a couple of shops. We have been eating down the freezer a bit, and DH ate out of there when me and DS were away in Inverness/Thurso. I do think I need to stock up on the burgers/mince etc that we like from one of our local butchers, so hopefully they'll still be doing the £20 deal next time I am in town (I am not planning to go for a few days at least though). I think the space is better used with meat in it's less processed form as I can then stretch that further.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I only have one pack of sausages left in the freezer at the moment so next time I go near the butchers I'll get enough for the next couple of months which should do us until we go on holiday. They're not cheap but they are nice and have very little fat in them so means they are more filling that SM ones.

Sorry but Richmond sausages are a definite NO! in this household! Can cope with Sainsbury Cumberland ones from the SM but that's about it! Definitely prefer butchers ones which, when I bought them last time, were £3.99 per lb. I buy by the number of sausages not the weight as the sausages are always different sizes depending on which of the staff have made them! I prefer them when one of the girls make them rather than the owner. The girls make them much more even sized and a bit smaller; the owner makes some of them really big and they only just fit in the frying pan!

Each to their own. They're not my favourite by far, but they do us for a meal. TBH I prefer a smaller sausage.
