MFWannabe said:Getridofdebt66 said:Its been a busy 2 weeks and work is overloading me so i am trying to do what i can. Last week i struggled to find shirts for dd for wschool so brought shoes and skirts instead, I have also been really careful and not spent anything except a cheap takeaway for me and dd on Monday, £16 spent.
Today I needed to grab dd some things for her club but struggled to find the item she needed, we did have a splurge of £70 in the sale at Matalan, dd got lots of clothes she needed including some new underwear and a couple of pairs of pjs, I also treated myself to a new pair of pjs, honestly cant remember the last time i brought myself anything, £10.50 spent and i love them. I have quite a lot of clothes but underwear and pjs are something i never buy myself until i need to. So i have decided i am going to have £25 a month for myself to by pjs or underwear i am in desperate need for some new bras and i need to be measured again so next month I plan on booking myself in to be measured and treat myself to some new bras. The spending did hit me though as I have loved the past week knowing i have a little buffer thanks to my dad giving me £50 towards the summer holidays but he won't care what it brought as long as dd is happy and she is beyond happy.
I still have forms to complete and i did mean to do it tonight but after tea me and dd just crashed so it will be a tomorrow job...
This week i have lots on with dd so will be very busy, there will be spending but i am trying to keep it to a minimum, petrol, 1x takeaway (planned) and some sweets for dd that is all, i also have food shop done and meal plan completed so i am making progress despite being so tired all week.
I still haven't managed to change dd for energy as they close early, i may get the laptop out shortly and send them an email requesting to change the amount so its something that starts the ball rolling with that one, I also need to book in some repairs for the house for in the holidays...right off to wash up, make a drink and then send some emails and make the most of the free time i have atm as it is so rare to have free time lately.
I have tried it just doesn't work, when i try it just says to try again later...i sent the emails last night to various places so thats one thing done. Dd is going out with her friends this morning so I plan on relaxing as much as i can as I have a big week in front of me.0 -
Had an email back from energy company and they have reduced the monthly amount, i habe set up a standing order for the extra amount.
Took dd to her club today the fell asleep this afternoon, i still need to iron uniforms and sort things out for work and school. I also need to order dd some new things for her club, i will order them later i am hoping no more than £15 total...it seems to be just flittering away atm but one thing she needs broke completely yesterday out of no where. I would also like to complete the forms for oh i have been forgetting about for weeks.
Tomorrow I am back at work then dd has an event so I will collect her afterwards, lsd as i will need petrol, £25 to get me through the week and thats all i plan on spending.
Time to get moving..0 -

Glad your list is getting smaller. I can’t cope with long lists. I am trying to take it a bit easy after a few hectic weeks at work and at home so keeping the lists small and where I can, light and fluffy iykwim?1 -
I have finally broken up, yesterday i was everywhere taking dd where she needed to go....unpaid driver over here! I also went to a local food surplus shop with my mum, got a bag full of fruit, veg and bread, rolls etc for £5 my mum paid so it didn't cost me anything.
Today i planned on staying in until later but i have put the clean washing away and sorted 5 bags of old clothes and rubbish out, I will make a little tip run later just to get it all gone. 2 days until payday and whilst i have about £1 to my name all my bills are paid and there is plenty in the cupboards so I take that as a big win as some months i havent had much in the cupboard only meals and robbing peter to pay paul...
The rest of todays plans
Have a quick shower shortly
All food from store
Book and make a tip run
Look in shed at decorating supplies i already have and make a list of what we need to complete the hallway
Washing and drying outside
Empty my boot of rubbish and wash the coats that have accumulated in there.
Take dd to her club
Have a relaxing evening with dd and oh
Also this week I want to look at things we have building up in the shed and look at posting online to get them sold to free up some money, thats a tomorrow/Friday plan depending on the weather. I also want to borrow my mums jetwash over the weekend and get the slabs cleaned off, not fun jobs but they are free jobs that will make outside look so much better.1 -
Yesterday was very productive, and I managed to do everything except check the shed, i will do that today.
Today i have some things i need to do but on the whole not a busy day. Its nice having a few quieter days after how busy work and RL has been over the past month. I did also borrow my mums jet wash yesterday, i do need to get a new hose pipe tomorrow as ours split so i will then be able to clean the front garden slabs.
Todays plans
Wait for workman about my bathroom issue
Take oh for a car repair (its a recall on his car)
General housework
Put the little washing i have away
Wash and dry outside if i can as it looks really cloudy this morning
All food from stores
Look in shed at decorating supplies
Put a cheque on my banking app
Thats my list to get me started...1 -
Today has been somewhat successful, we had a take away for tea as i had a refund put in my bank, we were planning on a takeaway tomorrow but we brought it forward. Other than that my whole list was completed and I found a big tub of paint unopened for the hallway, i only need some glass and rollers over the weekend to make a start next week.
Tomorrows plans
Another tip run...3 in 3 days but cheaper than a skip and getting rid of the rubbish
Take dd to mums holiday home for the afternoon, will have a browse around the shops but hopefully won't buy anything.
General housework
Washing and drying outside
All food from stores
£25 petrol
Look at meals in the freezer and do a mini food plan for the weekend with what i have left
Make some plans for next week as its looking a bit open
Thats enough to start my day.0 -
Yesterday was a lovely day, we took dd to my mums holiday home, i did end up spending £8 on a lounge set (new) and a beautiful day dress thats in the washing machine ready for me to wear later, this will come out of my £25 budget a month for myself, i will look online for some new underwear shortly to make the budget up.
I also didn't get around to putting my petrol in so i will do that this morning. I also need to do a mini shop and i need to buy some bit for decorating next week so that is on my list for today. I have 25% voucher for a shop i rarely go in, its a surplus shop so i will go this morning for a look around and see what i can get for the week and I will also pick up dog food when i am out.
I have been invited to a small gathering at a relatives this afternoon so i will pop over for an hour with dd.
Plans:
Hsd
Visit shop and use 25% voucher
Buy bits for decorating
Put £25 petrol in
Visit relatives this afternoon
Washing and dry outside
Empty some rubbish from car
General housework
Order some new underwear
Whilst it is a spendy day, it is all budgeted for and will help me across the week with decorating the house and sorting the garden.
Im just enjoying a cup of tea and quiet as i am the only one awake and it is just blissful, i love sitting here and not a sounds (except the distance sound of the washer but i dont mind that)0
